The viral hit game for all platforms, Angry Birds Space, has been updated in BlackBerry App World to v1.2.1. With this update comes a new stage called "Utopia" that adds 10 new levels. And 20 more levels are yet to come for the Utopia stage in a future update, which you can see are currently locked at the moment. I also noticed a few links to a couple of what look to be Japanese Angry Birds fan sites. If you scroll all the way to the right side while at the stages screen, you'll see what I mean. Get updated, or purchase for $2.99, and let us know of any findings/fixes you may come across!

The Inside BlackBerry Blog has just started a new blog series entitled "BlackBerry Comes To You." Research In Motion has planned around 35 events in 25 different cities all over the world over the next 12 months with the specific goal of getting more in touch with the BlackBerry community.

The big news being announced today is that BlackBerry World 2013 will be held May 14th-16th of next year. It's kind of hard to think about next year already but it definitely is exciting. By then, BlackBerry 10 will have launched (hopefully) on time and our expectations of BlackBerry World will be completely different than this past year. I personally can't wait.

If you've ever been in a situation where you wanna take a picture with your BlackBerry smartphone, but the shutter sound would just be rude to others around you, this app is for you!

Devcellent Solutions Inc. has released ShutUp Camera, which is basically an app that mutes your native Camera. The way this app differs from many others is that most of the other "camera mute" apps utilize a screenshot method, but ShutUp Camera gives you full high-resolution photos by muting sound in Native camera app.

This app must not have sat well with RIM, as they've pulled it from App World. Luckily, we are still offering the app in our BlackBerryOS Store.

Well it looks as though we can say good by to the 16 GB version of the BlackBerry PlayBook. Earlier in the week we told you that RIM was thinking about discontinuing the 16 GB PlayBook, but at that time there was no conformation on whether or not it was actually going to happen. Now there is. The PR team over at RIM issued the following statement regarding the matter:

"RIM will no longer be making the 16 GB model of the BlackBerry PlayBook tablet. The 16 GB PlayBook will continue to be available for distributors and retailers while quantities last. We continue to remain committed to the tablet space and the 32 GB and 64 GB models of the BlackBerry PlayBook continue to be available from our distributors and retailers around the world.

There is more value for our customers in the higher capacity models (32 GB, 64 GB), and as such we have decided to focus our efforts here."

Now this may come as sad news to some, but the reasoning behind it just makes sense. 16 GB of space simply is not enough room for most people. After downloading a couple of high-definition movies one can quickly see their space dwindling. For those of you thinking about purchasing a PlayBook now would be a great time as the last of the 16 GB PlayBook's are now being flushed out of retailers inventory. There may not be a price change, but if cost is an issue you may want to get one while they last.

BlackBerry devices and government organizations flow together so easily, it's almost as though the two were meant to be. The choice from government organizations to use BlackBerry devices as their primary means of communications is not only a testimony of the portability and security of the BlackBerry device; but it is also a testimony of something RIM got right.

Although the competition has been trying their best to enter into the world of the federal mobile device market, they all have fallen short of the underlying requirements; security. Yes, it's that word again security. Tired of hearing about it? Some may be, but the federal government is not. Security has to be and will be the number one concern when it comes to big government IT, and a large chunk or government IT is mobile device management.

This is an area where RIM has gotten it right from the beginning, and it seems as though the competition, Apple, Android have gone backwards in regards to security. Just take a look at the latest issue with LinkedIn's iOS application, in which it leaks sensitive user information as the app communicates with LinkedIn's servers. Malware on Android devices have spiked significantly over the past year and are only getting worse. The point here is that security can't be ignored, brushed off, or poorly practice in any type of government organization.
