This is turning out to be a pretty cool week for BlackBerry users as RIM has given us more goodies to try out. Today, the Beta Zone has released an update to Facebook for BlackBerry with its v3.0.0.6. Head on over to the BlackBerry Beta Zone to download the new beta Facebook for BlackBerry.

Or, you could talk other people into giving you their old devices too and get even more spending money. Hmm, that's a pretty good idea...

If your a BlackBerry user in Singapore you may be entitled to some free gifts from RIM. The gifts appear to be specific in that they only apply to users located in Singapore and only to those with a Curve 9380 or Torch 9860. As of right now the reason for these gifts is unknown. It could be another issue that RIM needs to make good on like the disaster outage that happened last year.

I'm on Twitter.. A lot. One of the things I like the most about Twitter is the trending topics aspect. In case you're unfamiliar with the concept it's pretty easy. When something "trends" it just means it's being mentioned by a lot of people on Twitter at the same time. Topics can trend locally (city/state), nationally, or even worldwide. Sometimes these topics will be marked by a hashtag (#) to make it easier for people to join in. One of the most common Twitter hashtags for BlackBerry and its users is #teamBlackBerry.

Along those lines, I was thinking today how we don't really have a name for the date of the launch of OS 2.0. We needed something catchy; something that would grab people's attention and ask more about 2.0. Let's face it, we're all excited about this release and more people need to know about it.

So in honor of this release, we at BlackBerryOS have come up with the hashtag #TwosDay for the 21st. Seems appropriate, OS 2.0 + Tuesday = #TwosDay. We've tweeted this to BlackBerry and hopefully they will jump on this suggestion but even if they don't use it themselves we will.

We want all of our readers with Twitter accounts to also join in. On the 21st, tweet your favorite new feature(s) of OS 2.0 using the hashtag #TwosDay and maybe, just maybe we can get it to trend. Happy tweeting #teamBlackBerry!

PlayBook OS 2.0 articles are as common as anything right now. All this is due to one thing: BlackBerry has yet to issue an official statement regarding the 21st. Until they do, more and more leaks will be given attention, that's just how it works. This time we have more than just verbal speech to confirm this date, we have a written document! Apparently according to this doc, OS 2.0 will be available at 4:01am, assuming EST. I know I'll be up!

Usually with pictures like this we would encourage all to take it with a grain of salt, but even with the fact that word "untethered" is spelled wrong, we're pretty sure the date at least is right on. Four days and counting till "Twosday." Maybe it'll catch on...

I don't know much about foreign movie markets, but BlackBerry is going to be in Singapore's latest movie production, Timeless Love 那个夏天.

Upon the demise of his grandmother, Morgan discovers among her belongings, a watch, a lease to an island and pictures of her from a past she used to speak regretfully of. In an attempt to unravel the mysteries of his only kin, the frigid and inflexible Morgan arrives at the island where he discovers the importance of friendship and love. Catch the trailer in the above video to find out more. Timeless Love premieres on 8th March 2012 in local cinemas.

Being latino, I'm always watching the spanish channel on TV for better or for worse. This evening something caught my eye during the annual award show "Premios Lo Nuestro." One of the hosts, came on screen and talked about how she just tweeted a picture of the next act that was about to perform using her BlackBerry Bold. Then she went on to say how amazing of a phone it was because of the great keyboard and cool touchscreen display.

I was pretty surprised but in reality I don't think I should have been. BlackBerry has had amazing product placement and advertising in Latin America for years. Along with the U.K., Latin America has proven to be one of RIM's strong points in these recent times of struggle. I'm use to seeing commercials and other BlackBerry ads but seeing a Bold, front and center in a major award show is pretty huge. I'm glad to see RIM holding strong to one of their best markets in the globe.
