One of my favorite games on the PlayBook received a major update really early this morning. Sketch With Friends v2.0 for the PlayBook is now available in App World and although no change log was included in the update, Sketch With Friends' Facebook page mentions the "new features include Private Rooms" (which is definitely a welcome update).

BlackBerry has made two more games available to OS 7 users for free today in App World. Both the Sims 3 World Adventures and Need for Speed- The Run are now downloadable for free compliments of BlackBerry. Go ahead and fire up App World and get your hands on both of these games as this is only a limited time offer.

Okay so this is gonna sound ridiculous, but this game is both incredibly beautiful visually and ridiculously simple all the same exact time. TunnelTilt is a pretty awesome 3D WebGL game that consists of getting a little glowing ball passed all the obstacles in order to make it to the end. Simple right? Try it and you'll see.

The popular shooter game by Gameloft, Modern Combat 2 Black Pegasus HD, has been updated to v3.0 for the BlackBerry PlayBook. It looks like many users were experiencing a lot of issues with random crashes during game play. Hopefully this update takes care of that and may add some UI adjustments among other features. I was originally going to be writing this article an hour ago, when I first downloaded Sketch With Friends. Then I actually started playing it and let's just say that's where my last hour has been spent. Sketch With Friends is a new game similar to that other fruit's game "Draw Something."

The objective of the game is to try to guess correctly what other people are drawing. The faster you guess, the more points you score. When it's your turn to draw the roles are reversed. The quicker someone guesses correctly what you drew, the more points you get. After 10 rounds the winner is chosen.

I originally didn't know if it would be worth the $1.99 price tag but after the first game, I was convinced it definitely is. Sketch With Friends is a cross-platform game that pins you against Apple and Android users, as well PlayBook owners and that also brought an extra cool factor.

Right now, BlackBerry PlayBook users are pretty much dominating this game and hopefully that is evidence to other cross-platform devs that we are worthy of the investment. Make sure you check this game out!

One of the coolest free games I've come across so far on the PlayBook is Run In Crowd. The concept is simple: run, jump and avoid obstacles alongside other players from other platforms. You read that correctly, this app is cross-platform so iOS and BlackBerry users are all playing together. Aside from that, you can actually customize your little guy (I wonder what his name is) if you buy a costume (.99 cents per outfit).

All in all, this game is addictive and as soon as I got the hang of the jumping it became a must have! The best part about it, it's free! Great free games are hard to come by so I'm super excited about this one.

If there's one thing that really gets my blood boiling, it's the lack of Words with Friends on my BlackBerry Bold 9900. While I'm easily one of the worst Scrabble-type game players, that has yet to extinguish any of the excitement I get from playing Fightin' Words. This app was originally developed by similar people (minus the horrible Scrabble skills) that were extremely put out by the lack of a decent game in this genre. If the update has yet to reach your BlackBerry, here's what changes:

Pixelated is a strategy game where the purpose is to eventually get all the blocks/pixels one color in less than 21 color changes. Starting in the left hand corner, each turn needs to be calculated perfectly so that as many surrounding pixels can join into the main group by being the same color. In all the time I've been playing Pixelated, I don't think I've ever seen an update, but this v3.1 comes with some new goodies:

I am 100%, without a doubt in my mind, addicted to Pixelated. Both fortunately and unfortunately I have yet to beat it. Half of me grows increasingly frustrated because I get so close to winning.. then I don't. However, the other half of me is so glad to have a game that I can't beat after having it for 30 minute. Yes, I have downloaded games that I expect to be remotely challenging, but I work my way through all the levels within a short amount of time, resulting in my having to delete an app because I can't go any further with it.
