With the recent Bold Touch OS leak, it was discovered that a few native IM apps were also updated. These apps include GTalk, Yahoo! & Windows Live Messenger. As these IM app updates were extracted from a OS 6 leak, they will NOT work with OS 5 devices!

Seesmic, a some-what popular social networking app, has issued the following statement:

Blackberry users, we have important news we would like to share:

Effective June 30th, Seesmic will discontinue support for Blackberry in order to focus development efforts on our most popular mobile platforms: Android, iOS and Windows Phone 7.

We encourage those effected by this change to try out Seesmic for Android, iOS and Windows Phone 7, as well as and Web.

    Team Seesmic
For those of you unfamiliar with Seesmic, it is an app that attempts to merge multiple Facebook and Twitter accounts for its users. The Seesmic for BlackBerry app though fell incredibly short of that. The app hardly ever got updates, was overall very buggy and it just seemed like it was designed in a overall lazy fashion. Most BlackBerry users have never even heard of Seesmic so this news comes as no surprise. The slap in the face for all BlackBerry users that read this is the fact that the Seesmic Team is actually suggesting that the Windows Phone 7 is a more popular platform than ours. Really though?

Either way, the current Seesmic for BlackBerry will continue to function until Twitter or Facebook make some major change like their log-in authentication; etc.

When new apps or software leaks it's always an exciting time. Maybe it's because of the possibility of new features or the risk of messing up your device. Either way, this latest version has apparently been extracted from the 9850/9860 simulator.

With it though comes certain software restrictions on who can download it:
    • BlackBerry OS or higher
    • A BlackBerry ID

    • Download BBM here.
    • If you downloaded it by accident and it messed up your BlackBerry try restarting it in Safe Mode.
    • Share what's new in this build with us in the forums
    • Note: This version of BBM might not work for all that try it. Some people are reporting the BBM icon disappears and fails to ever appear.

Disclaimer: This software is leaked, unofficial and not supported by RIM. By downloading it you willingly run the risk of messing up your BlackBerry device and losing data. does not take a responsibility for any damage that may result from downloading any unofficial/leaked software. Enjoy!

This is by far the coolest little app I have seen in some time. BlackBerry takes the cake on this one. Something as small as an Avatar app has made a huge splash in the BBM Community. Its the little things that count, huh?

BBM Avatar comes in two different forms, you can download the male or female editor. The editors are small but have a bunch of options for customizing your very own avatar. In fact, the two avatars above are both BBOS staff members... I am on the Left and AgentBlackBerry is on the right. Who do you think has the better avatar?

Download the BlackBerry Avatar Builder, Build your avatar and show us your completed project.

Oh how I love it when developers finally choose to bring their apps to BlackBerry. Path becomes the latest company to decide to make their way onto the BlackBerry platform starting with a beta program.

While I personally haven't used Path in its other available platform, based on what I saw in the video, it looks pretty awesome. Path aims to keep track and share specific events/days by means of a simple picture and caption with a max of 50 friends. This definitely makes you think of who you'd like to add to the mix instead of just adding everyone you could think of. It's definitely a really cool idea that I could see catching on especially on our platform that lacks an app like this.

Word just came in of a new BlackBerry Traffic Beta opening up in the BlackBerry Beta Zone. Since the beginning of the BlackBerry Beta Zone it has been obvious that RIM cares about our opinions in the development of native apps. From the Beta Zone have come out some super solid apps like , BlackBerry Travel, and finally BlackBerry Traffic as well as many improvements to BBM, Twitter for BlackBerry and Facebook for BlackBerry.

The popular smartphone app BBTran is now available for the PlayBook as FancyTran! This PlayBook version now provides a more convenient user experience as well as text to speech features. As you can see in the above photo that it works rather well, even with Hebrew, a language that is read from right to left. The only thing that I noticed was when typing a word that doesn't translate to Hebrew, it will still show in English and in the wrong place of the translated sentence. Best translator I've seen so far for PlayBook, and it's free!

    • 59 languages supported
    • Dictionary mode & free text translation
    • Spelling correction included
    • Tracks history of translations
    • Provides recent translations even being offline
    • Speaks translation for most languages

While talking with some people at the BlackBerry Beta Zone today, someone mentioned a site called which has apparently been getting a lot of attention the past couple of days. The site's look is super clean and sharp. It actually looks like it could be growing and be the real deal.

As the URL name clearly states, this site aims to allow users of our favorite instant messaging platform to search for others' PINs and add them to BBM via the means of a search-engine-like interface. Which begs the question, does this site have some way of accessing our PINs without us knowing and connecting them to some searchable criteria?
