It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas within the BlackBerry community. Yesterday, we shared with you some leaked BlackBerry 10 L and N-series UI specs. Today, more information has surfaced that depicts what the BBM messaging application may look like.

According to yet another leaked internal document, BBM on the new BB 10 devices will have the ability to utilize themes. According to the document, changing the theme to a black theme can decrease battery consumption by approximately 25%. In addition, further optimizing the screen for the OLED-display decreases battery consumption by 75% compared to the direct translation.

This is some good news. I'm liking the fluid interface of the BBM chat windows on the L-series BB 10 device.

Spotify has finally come out of the public beta they were running and will now be available to certain BlackBerry users via App World.

For those of you wondering, Spotify is an app that allows you to stream tons of songs directly to your BlackBerry device with a simple click. It's actually a really nifty app and does all its functions extremely well. Many that have tried the beta out rave about it so it's definitely cool to see it finally hit App World.

Now, why did we say only a certain amount of BlackBerry users can get it? Well, Spotify has informed us that the app currently only supports certain GSM and CDMA carriers' BlackBerry devices. Apparently, Verizon BlackBerry devices are one of the group that isn't being supported right now.

No word on if/when other devices will be supported but we definitely hope that is the case in the near future. For now though head on over to App World and check to see if your device is supported. Leave us a comment below to let us know if your device/carrier is supported!

I know that many of us are painstakingly waiting for Netflix or Hulu to officially hit the BlackBerry platform. However, until then, developer Daniel Bigham has created a nice way to be able to stream Hulu via your PC to your PlayBook tablet on the Luhu app. While this isn't the most convenient way, it is promising for what we may see in the near future. And for us Hulu users out there, it's enough to quench our thirst in the meantime. You can pick Luhu up in App World for only a $1.99. For those who aren't aware yet, RIM is in the works with dev company, Mippin, to create a BlackBerry App Generator interface that will allow those with no application experience to compile a working BlackBerry app for PlayBook and Smartphones. David Mannl, CTO of Mippin, discusses the BlackBerry 10 platform with Patrick Mollins, Developer Evangelist for BlackBerry. Manni also shows off their Generated app already loaded onto the BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha device.

As of now, you can request an invite into the BlackBerry App Generator program, but no open Beta testing as of yet. Looks like though, it may not be far off from public use. We'll keep you posted.

Our good friend J. Duke just informed us that his newest app, Crochet Buddy HD, has officially been released to App World. I was lucky enough to be one of the beta testers for this app and I must say it is incredibly solid. If you, or someone you know, loves to crochet or has been interested in learning, this is definitely the app for you.

At $0.99, this app is a steal for how smoothly it runs on the PlayBook and useful it is. Aside from a great UI, it has embedded how-to-videos that will get any beginner on the right track and great reference charts and tables that will help out long time crocheters a ton as well.
