One of the big disappointments to many users of the PlayBook at launch was the lack of a native email app. Now, it looks like at least one third-party developer has been working on a solution. The app, which is called aMail has been submitted to App World and is currently waiting for approval. The aMail app comes courtesy of AiFlex and is noted as being a "native email for multiple accounts in one easy to use app." In terms of support, the aMail app offers support for any IMAP, SMTP and POP3 account and will come with preset configurations for Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail and Live accounts. AiFlex has even offered up a video of the aMail app in action while everyone waits to see if RIM will give it the thumbs up. We'll keep you posted on any changes.

Updates are rolling out in BlackBerry App World for the popular music streaming app, Pandora. The update is version 1.1.8 which notes that it is strictly for bug fixes. So if you were having issues with Pandora, then download the update and hope for the best. Be sure to let us know of any findings/fixes you notice.

So, when I became a blogger for BlackBerryOS, I needed a quick way to access the site. Since I use Google Chrome, I decided to make a Google Chrome Application for BlackBerryOS. When installed, this app will display a shortcut to BBOS on your New Tab page, enabling you to easily access all the wonders that is BBOS.

Firstly, you need Google Chrome installed on your computer. To install the app, simply download the .zip file I have included as an attachment, and as a Dropbox download link, then unzip it and drag the file to Google Chrome-which should be open-and click on yes when it asks you to continue. That's it! You now have a quick and easy way to access BlackBerryOS.com!

UPDATED: Fixed a bug where the user is not logged in when accessing the page through the app.

Tungle.me, a cloud-based scheduling application that syncs your calender items will all your social networking accounts and your calendar program, has been acquired by RIM today. Hopefully, this will lead the way to additional features in the BlackBerry Operating system, which will most probably be widely embraced. Tungle already has a BlackBerry application, available here, but they should now discontinue development on it, while focusing on integrating it within RIM's OS. Tungle currently supports Microsoft Outlook, Google Calendar, iCal/Entourage, Lotus Notes, LotusLive, Windows Live, and Yahoo!

After much wait, BlackBerry Messenger v6.0 is now available in Beta Zone. You may not notice many new features in the UI, but it is confirmed that it is compatible with OS 5.0 and 6.0 devices!

Some of the updates & tweaks include:

Updated BBM branding
More "snappy" and responsive feel
Visual distinction of message drafts vs. sent messages
Any alerts set for SMS contacts are now preserved in BBM once an SMS contact is integrated with BBM
Invite a Text Messaging Contact -- it's now easier to search contacts
Location Search -- you can now search for a location before sending, similar to the Location Search experience via SMS
Location Sending -- you can now detect your location with cell tower triangulation or GPS
Appointment Sending -- sending appointment or calendar events is now a similar experience to that of sending an appointment via SMS

RIM is working with Hulu to bring Hulu Plus to the BlackBerry PlayBook after Hulu blocked BlackBerry PlayBook users from accessing Hulu.com on Thursday, just days after the tablet launched in stores. PC Mag and The Wall Street Journal report the same email statement from RIM on a resolution:

"We are in conversations with Hulu to bring the Hulu Plus subscription service to BlackBerry PlayBook users."

Rather bland and predictable statement, right? Hulu traditionally blocks non-desktop access on tablets, mobile phones, and set-top boxes in order to encourage users to subscribe to its new Hulu Plus service for $7.99/month. Perhaps we'll see a quick resolution to this conflict. We'll keep you updated on any changes.
