If you grew up as a kid in the 80's, like myself, then you most likely owned one of the original Executor Keychains. These fun for kids, yet annoying as hell to adults, keychains were a staple to the youth of those times. If you happened to miss out on the Executor Keychain generation, or just want to re-live those childhood memories of blowing up your kid sibling with the infamous dropping bomb sounds, it is now possible thanks to developer Harry Scanlan AKA @footose.

Harry has taken the sounds and UI of the physical Executor Keychain, made it into a app for your BlackBerry device, and re-named it beExecutor. This app has the 8-bit, 8-sound effects similar to the original sound effect "Executor" Keychain: Bomb, Explosions, Siren, Machine Gun, Phasers, Lasers, Falls and a Gatling Gun. With beExecutor you'll be center of attention no matter what time or place, just crank up the volume and let er' rip! This little noisemaker app is a must have for anyone looking to have a bit of fun.

And if you are also looking for the original thing, I've spotted a few on eBay for sell as well. You can pick up beExecutor now in App World for only $0.99, only a fraction of what it would cost for the real thing!

Move over LocalBar, BBHTool, and DDPB the next biggest PlayBook utility has just arrived. Enter PlayBook App Manager, a new gem in the PlayBook management utility software department. Designed by George J this web manager will take complete control over your PlayBook apps, and much more. Easy to install, and implement the PlayBook App Manager has taken over the throne as the ultimate PlayBook utility.

I could not have been more excited to see a web-based application that is robust yet so simple. My hats off to the developers behind
PlayBook App Manager. So without further ado, lets jump into some details about PlayBook App Manager.

The PlayBook App Manager can do many things, and although its primary purpose is add and remove programs from your PlayBook it can also do things like terminate processes. Yes, even Android processes. Now we finally have an Android Kill Switch! In addition things like multiple installs, device information, and application information as available as well.

The PlayBook App Manager is a simple Chrome and Monzilla extension that integrates seamlessly with either browser. All you have to do is enter your PlayBook's ip something like a 192.168.x.x if your PlayBook is on your local LAN or 169.0.x.x if its plugged in via USB. In short you can manage your device over wifi or via USB.

Some of the main features include:
    Main Features

    1. Save your password in the browser for auto login (or not if you choose not to). Some tricks are done to save half of usual login time.
    2. List all the apps installed. Query run status, launch, terminate, or uninstall any individual app.
    3. Install apps by a queue. Multiple apps may be added to the queue by choosing files in a dialog or a simple drag and drop. Apps may be removed from the queue and installation may be aborted. Installation status is displayed in two steps: file uploading (to the playbook) with a progress bar and the actual installation with echoed messages.
    4. Auto retry for any incomplete installation or uninstallation.
    5. Log and categorize all the results of installations. Locate each one of them by a simple click.

I do not want to diminish usefulness of the other PlayBook utilities, but this one takes the cake. Make sure you check out the PlayBook App Manager main website at Playbook App Manager . Thanks for the guys over at OSBB for finding this gem. Make sure you keep it right here for some more surprises.

Lara Croft has been the face of the popular Tomb Raider series and has been the bad girl of video game characters since 1996. If your like me then you probably grew up playing this game on the PC. This time Lara makes her makes her way to the BlackBerry PlayBook, in the title called The Guardian Of Light.

A while ago we told you about an intuitive app for the BlackBerry called Card2Contact. Since the folks over at Card2Contact have been hard at work on version 3.0.1. Card2Contact takes your paper business cards and moves them to your BlackBerry device in a quick and secure manner. What separates Card2Contact from the rest of the bunch is that is uses humans to transcribe your business cards. That means more accurate information and goes along with their 100% accuracy verification. I love that fact that I can say good bye to those piles of paper business cards and move them to my BlackBerry.

Version 3.0.1 brings us some new features to include:

    • enhanced Contacts page to view the uploaded business cards
    • status of the business cards conversion or send email feature in App
    • new pricing packages and Support features

    Why use Card2Contact?

    • First business card conversion app for BlackBerry with human verification!
    • Manual Transcription Team does the transcription especially for YOU!
    • You don’t need an assistant or text/voice recognition technology for conversion!
    • 100% accuracy!
    • In-app features allow you to take a picture of the business card, upload information, and buy credits.
    • Secure and reliable dedicated servers!
    • Once you store the data in your contact list, we won’t keep a backup of your data and card.
    • We send all the information on the Business Card. We won’t skip any details!

I think you get the picture. So head on over to BlackBerry App World and download it.

Our good friend Kathryn Lahrs, from Lahrs Apps, just let us know about a new app she's been working on and has gotten into App World. Garble is a pretty cool message encrypting app that allows you to share your messages with friends and family in a cool secretive way.

This app is definitely geared towards a younger audience but that doesn't stop it from actually being super solid in functionality. The fact that it's cross-platform will also make it an enticing app for many so make sure to check it out.

    Official description:
Do you want to have some extra fun with your text messages? Do you want to keep your messages a secret from your parents, teachers, friends, boyfriend/girlfriend, etc.? Do you want to create a unique garbled message for each of your friends?

This, and more, is possible with Garble! Send Garbled text messages to any of your contacts. Garble is available on BlackBerry, and other phones so no contact is left out. Your messages are kept on your phone only; no data is sent to a server or saved anywhere except your phone.

Even your friends who do not have the Garble app can use the free Garble Reader app to read your garbled messages. Customize your garbles, select which contacts can garble with you and so much more.

In Dummy Jake, you control a robot that is falling in the air by tilting your device and using two special controls to try and get the best score you can. But be careful, Jake is running out of battery so pay attention to the lap time of each level. Feel the thrill of the fall by passing through fire rings, avoiding asteroids, and grabbing goodies along the way!

Controls are easy to use; one part of the screen is dedicated to the maneuver button and the other part to the nitro button. Use maneuvers to skillfully dodge the obstacles, and turn on your nitro to rush from one power up to another. You can also challenge your friends to get the highest Dummy Rank ever and earn your name on the World Dummies leaderboard!

By now you have probably heard about RIM's release of the highly anticipated BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2.0. For months now, all anyone in the BlackBerry community could do was talk about PlayBook OS 2.0. Rumors and guesses of when it would be released had everyone on their toes, and had others running out of patience. They say good things come to those who wait. Was this the case with PlayBook OS 2.0? Did RIM deliver on what so many have been waiting for? After spending some time with the PlayBook OS 2.0 this is my review.

Business cards are one of the most common methods of exchanging contact information, and if your like me you probably have a ton scattered all around. Most people at one point in time have received a business card from someone and then tossed it in the heap of other business cards. The main reason for the toss, is that no one like to take the time to manually enter all the contact information into their mobile device. The process is tedious time consuming and just plain annoying.

Enter Card2Contact, this little app developed for the BlackBerry can easily do it all for you. All you have to do is take a picture. Yes, it really is that simple. I was a bit skeptical about this myself so I decided to give it a try and after a quick snap of the business card, and a short time the contact info was taken from the card and placed neatly into my BlackBerry contacts.

The way the app works is actually pretty neat. It uses the native camera from your BlackBerry to take a picture of the business card. Then from there it is uploaded to Card2Contact's Manual Transcription Team. From there is sent back to your device to be stored into your contact list. The app works on a credit based system so $10 will get you 30 credits. These credits are then used to upload your business cards.

Card2Contact can be downloaded in BlackBerry App World.

Look, every platform has them. Different apps that are only available to certain people due to their alliance with a specific smartphone OS. We have BlackBerry Messenger, Android and iOS have apps like Instagram. Developers of each platform try their best to make apps that resemble and give the feel of those apps not natively available to them (i.e. Kik, WhatsApp; etc).

One of the apps that I've really wanted to come to BlackBerry platform is Instagram. It looks pretty cool, not gonna lie. Well apparently we've had a pretty cool app in App World that makes photo sharing pretty easy.

    MOLOME Key Features
    • Fast camera access for instant sharing
    • 14 magical filters, including the all time popular Vignette, Parlo, Croosy, Old Paper, Vintage, Sepia and Black & White
    • New filters for MOLOME™ Blackberry release: Rainbow
    • Sharing to MOLOME™ network, Facebook and Twitter
    • Earn Badges
    • Follow and view Friends' photos
    • View Popular photos
    • Love and comment photos
    • Notification
    • Easy view and update your own profile & photo
    • Optimize performance for Blackberry devices
    • Fast upload speed
    • 100% free and unlimited photo uploads
    • 640x480 screen resolution are fully supported
The app still has a couple of visual bugs that need to be worked out but it shouldn't be too hard to address this in future builds. I just got started with my MOLOME account and it works pretty well. The Twitter integration is definitely my favorite part of the app. Thanks to @BBeesnHoney for the tip!

Note: MOLOME is only compatible with:

    BlackBerry Curve 8520, 8900, 9300, 9350, 9360, 9370
    BlackBerry Storm 9500, 9530, 9550
    BlackBerry Bold 9700, 9780 9900, 9930
    BlackBerry Torch 9800, 9810

I love it when apps go on sale. I especially love it when it's apps that are actually awesome like Show Me The Images and Email++. The guys from Kisai Labs and Devcellent are offering this for a limited time so if you don't already have both of these apps in your BlackBerry then make sure you get them now.

    Show Me the Images

By default, BlackBerry® devices are set to defer image downloads in e-mail messages until the user goes to the menu and clicks "Get Images". What if you wanted more control?

Show Me The Images automatically downloads images in your e-mails without you needing to hit that "Get Images" menu item. You can disable it, download based on a safe list of e-mail addresses (default) or download no matter who the contact is.

    Email++

Enhance your BlackBerry® email experience today with Email++ - A fully integrated graphical toolbar for the native BlackBerry Email app with features such as Convert To, Forward/Reply with Edit, Unsend, Priority, Block/Filter, My Availability and My Location. Email++ also features Microsoft Outlook like Message Preview no matter on which screen (including the Homescreen) you are on. Tired of fragmented plugins that show up as mere menu items in the email app and are hard to find and use? Try Email++ today and love email like never before.

Waze is a new kind of social networking app that allows drivers to build roads that haven't yet been "paved" on the app's map system, as well as use live (and most importantly: current) maps as well. The app enables users the opportunity to check real time traffic updates that other Waze users have posted while driving and even use GPS navigation! One thing I really like is that you get points for driving, paving roads, and even hitting little icons on the map for bonus points. The app supports all BlackBerry devices over 8900.
