    Z30 first use

Hi decided to buy Z30 after seeing unboxing video here, without trying it first ( no demo units ) my choice the black one, the phone is the size of the box length/width,includes a premium stereo headset they are ok but I use my own, a USB cable and UK mains plug only (Z10/Q5 came with Europe plug as well ) and usual paper quick start guide, after set up it has 11.1 GB free on UK version, OS 10.2.0.224 installed, home screen has 20 icons per page and had new BlackBerry Hub and ever note icons, the settings menu is white on black and looks much better, there is a device monitor you can select to show CPU usage by various services settings/Hub/Facebook in % measurement, or select memory to show how much each service is using shown in Mb and % of the 2GB of Ram available, the Amoled screen is bright and the colours are excellent and 5" makes a big difference the browser is very fast to load beating my Z10 in side by side test both using same Wi-Fi source, watched BBC nature film about Meerkats the picture quality and sound from speakers is brilliant, also when viewing web page by swiping up over back arrow shows three banners with open pages plus one for full history launches from below screen, the lower border and edges are in silver and back panel same as Z10/Q10, back panel is not that hard to remove just be careful, along side Z10 it looks slim despite being larger, I have small hands and can use it one handed for most things, the Z30 feels and looks premium and build quality is excellent made in Mexico not china, I use SanDisk ultra class ten micro SD cards in all my BB10 phones they give excellent results, the battery life too soon to tell yet but the Amoled screen will when web browsing will use more power than LCD on Z10 but it's worth it, and there's the monster battery, call quality is excellent and Wi-Fi locks on quickly and cellular is very good i am on 3G+DC system (4G coming soon), the reviews are mainly against BlackBerry and BB10 phones why? I have lived with BB10 for eight months now and have Z10/Q5 and now Z30 never had a reboot or freezing they all work perfectly, the non removable battery is a point mentioned as a negative in reviews if charged correctly it should last several years so not a problem, lack of apps ? that's a personal thing I am fortunate in all I need are there, the Hub is the jewel in the crown no other system I have used matches it, and the price mine was cheaper than Q10 but would have paid more to own in my personal opinion the ultimate Blackberry phone, would I recommend the Z30 yes if you get the chance, let's hope that BlackBerry Z30 comes to our American members you won't put it down I can't, poor old Z10 now a work phone. Update tested Z30 on cellular and the new aerial system connected to network quickly put Z10 beside Z30 on same network and Z30 download speed 12Mbps+ while Z10 just managed 4Mbps internet performance amazing on Z30 this inside my house,

    Thanks for the feedback!

I'm glad that BB got back into great audio quality. The PlayBook was awesome when it came to the audio as well.

Hi BrittonPatrick, the Z30 with my use pattern lasts a day and half, my Z10 about 9 hours, the Real battery consumer is web browsing affects all phones with Amoled screens, battery life has improved after re charging several times, carrier signal reception on Z30 is excellent even inside buildings and audio is crystal clear, BlackBerry has in my experience with BB10 phones have finally produced a phone that can stand alongside their competitors, it may not have the gimmicks, most will not used after novelty has worn off, it does every thing well and so far have never let me down, ( my Q5 has an excellent battery life too ) BlackBerry deserves to succeed with the Z30 probably the best Blackberry ever.

Hi all, I have mine for 4 days and each day i get to work with a full-is battery and go home at around 4pm with more than 60, this was usually around 30 if not 20 on my Z10.
Just loving the sound quality. wich I had 4G to test download speeds on, but 3G definitely not too bad i'm actually impressed.
screen size and quality excellent, even the screen hardware side is excellent IMO
OS speed and performance has been impectable, now and again a lag but nothing serious
connecting memory card, mouse, keyboard and monitor just a treat
wifi direct, ah what a pleasure, 162MB video in less than 2 minutes
i am tempted to install 10.2.1 leak like i did on my Z10 but i think i will wait for official update

one negative: my SD card data keeps dissapearing, grrr

I had the same. Try another card. Some SD cards seem to have quality issues or too large mechanical toerances.

These SD cards are really a mess these days, a 16 gb sd always hangs up in my Q5, that is really helpful.

The Z30 is one amazing device. I get two days easy of battery, I am around wifi mostly and not a power user like some of you folks. No regrets on this one, wow is it good.

I really should change my avatar now.

Hi about micro SD cards, I found after trying many makes that the best is SanDisk ultra class 10, I use them in my Z30 /Z10. And Q5 up to 32GB no problems, yes they are expensive but worth it,
    Hope this helps.

Hi OriginalLucy, congratulations on getting your Z30, which colour did you choose If you had a choice ?,
Only black in UK and hard to find, I use mine watching TV on the train journey to work, battery lasts a day with heavy use,
    Probably the best BlackBerry ever?.

    Hi,
I general branded cards, Sandisk or Samsung, make less problems compared the No-name ones. That's at least my impression.

Micro sd cards are just brilliant. I think i have hardly come across a corrupted card. They work efficiently and never get damaged.
