Z10 Owners club
This thread is for all the Z10 owners. rest stay away...LOL
All Z10 owners pls post your first day experiences and troubles with the new phone in this thread.
I personally think this is an amazing phone. yes it has some small bugs, but nothing is a deal breaker. and with the upcoming 10.1 update i wud expect most of the small bugs to be fixed. there are few things i wanted to point out while switching device
1. BlackBerry protect might now always work. it worked for my friend but for me it didnot install any contacts, memos, ect... luckily i read this link before purchasing ( BlackBerry 10 Tutorials ) thanks to @joejerde
2. but after switching device using media card u might still not find password keeper. thats coz it doesnt come pre-loaded on BB10. so go to BBworld, download the password keeper and upon opening the app it will prompt for new password. once new password is entered it will prompt for old password on old device to retreive all data (Both can be same. i tried it). thats all data is there.
3. rest of the data like tasks and memos will be automatically stored in remember app unified entries
4. however, there is a problem i faced with SD card swith device option. My contact were missing. there are nummber of ways to get ur contacts but i used the bluetooth on 9900 to transfer all contacts. i had 532 contaccts and it finished in 10-15 mins. thats quite fast i would say. all contacts are stored in .VCf format in downloads folder also.
But overall, i have to say this phone is amazingly fast and smooth. apps work better, browser is excellent, games fell better, and the game center app, hub, flow, i can keep going. hope to read more good experience of other memebers.
As an American who has watched the entire world get the Z10 while I frantically sit around on my hands, this post has added to my discontent and unhappiness. Sigh! I hope to add to this post with some good info and observations one day (although I might be waiting for the Q10), but for now.....I have nothing. Waaaaaahhhhh!!!!!
*Thanks for your post veeru789! :D
There have definitely been some quirks while I've used the Z10. However, these seem to be less so as I carry on using it.
One thing that is really ace is the Box sync which allows you to automatically upload videos and pictures as you take them, and is baked right into the OS to work really well. Plus you can choose to upload only via wifi if data consumption is a concern.
One thing I do miss is the data compression. I'm definitely gobbling up more data and have hit my limit for this month. I'm putting it down to App downloads and send ING pictures but it is definitely something that I will have to keep my eye on for a while.
I'm taking in quite a bit more data too, but it's from downloading apps/app updates and consuming media. It's my first month having my Z10 so it has been in my hand constantly. I'm guessing my data usage will decrease next month when the shine wears off and it just becomes an extension of my arm like my 9900 used to be.

Being a security enthusiast, I was happy to see Encryption available in the latest OS update. Device encryption + VPN connection = no worries.
One feature I wish were easier to access is Screen Brightness. There should be a slider to adjust screen brightness in the pull-down Settings menu from the homescreen. I turn my brightness all the way down when I'm indoors to preserve battery life, but once I go outside I can't really see my screen. A quick toggle would make this much easier to adjust.
Overall I am very happy with my Z10. It's not perfect, but I didn't expect it to be. It is still a very young OS, so it can only get better from here. I am very satisfied with the reliability, usability and features it offers for a 1st gen OS.
@johnreid i noticed that if im playing games on the Z10 for say 10-15 mins the device gets heated. it becomes very hot on the back. im not sure if this is a battery issue or in general a Z10 issue. Have you noticed any such thing on urs?

@BBkyle agree with you 100%. overall this Z10 is a damn good, addictive device. barely a month after launch and we have an update already. so, im expecting it will only get better in the future.
@Veeru, I have the same issue with the battery getting hot while playing certain games. Don't think it's anything to worry about, but it would be nice for this to be taken care of in future updates. I'm sure battery use is one of the top priorities right now.
@Kyle, I'm the same way. I love to move in and out of the Hub. It's a habit!
I'm really looking forward to the Android 4.1 runtime and OS 10.1.
Envy and jealousy isn't what I have. I am straight up HATING on EVERYONE who has a Z10! =))
