hey every one, like you see on my profile i have a storm 9500 wich i bought unlocked, now im getting a 9530 but is locked, no big deal....im in the process to get the unlock code...my question is
whats the proces to unlock it?

Just call VZW international and tell them you are traveling to some random country like Madagascar. If you've had a VZW account for 60 days (or maybe 30 days forgot which one) they provide you with a code to unlock your phone. Voila simple as that.

nope im with tmobile, and i will get the code tomorrow, just need some advice in the process....how to input the unlock code should be the questionat:

When you get the code tomorrow it should come with instructions. However, let me dig my Tmo curve out of the closet and take a look. It's pretty straightforward I just need to recall the steps.

This is the service I used to provide the unlock code (specific to my PIN/MeId), and the process to complete the unlock process. It worked well, and got it on the third try (during the code entering, you can't see what you're typing...so took a couple tries at 3am to get it correct).

I was just wondering how to unlock my Storm without paying for it. I tried calling that number, but I had a break in service for not paying a bullshit $600+ phone bill. Anyway, I paid it in full and have had the account for over 60 days, but they won't give me the unlock code. It's gotta be some sort of algorithm if websites can do it with just the IMEI code. Are there any programs that do this? Or websites? I know... I'm probably screwed. Thanks in advance for any useful information.

What is the benefit to an unlocked phone? Can I get a sim card from say att prepaid with a different number and put that in my storm and basically run 2 different phone lines on the same phone?

Sorry I hear alot about unlockin but am trying to figure out the benefit.

If your storm is unlocked, you can use it with any gsm carrier. If you plan to sell it, it usually sells for more than a locked one.
