Thread: So... I decided to go to .230 but BBSAK isn't wiping properly

Everything backed up.

I have my Tour connected properly but when I click on Wipe Device in BBSAK (v. 1.5) it does the "Are you sure?" (Yes) and then does "Wipe Complete!" without wiping anything. Am I doing something wrong?

Edit: Just doing a wipe from the Tour now with Apps being wiped. We shall see if this is sufficient to load the new OS.

Does your device require a password?

Also what version of bbsak you using?? I have had trouble with the updated version so now I only use the first version. Also you need to have dm up on updated version. Make sure you don't have password protected set in your security options.

I had the same issue with a couple of functions in bbsak version 1.5

Restarting the PC is what solved my problem.

Ever since I wiped with BSAK, I am unable to connect my device to my computer (and I had the same symptom as above - 'wipe complete' came instantly after I chose y to proceed). I now can't load any os because the ap loader won't run because the computer can't find my device. Anyone have any suggestions - thanks

The funny thing is that when I launch BBSAK, I am connected instantly and it shows my pin. Hitting disconnect does nothing in BBSAK unless I re wipe, after which it does finally disconnect but thereafter, my computer still can't find my device - now I'm sitting with a 507 and can't load an os because I can't connect - HELP

I can help you walk thru the process, but would like you to give me a little more info on the situation:

1. What OS are you trying to load?
2. What steps have you already taken (besides the wiping )?

Here are the steps I took
backed up using DM
backed up third party using BBSAK
wiped using BBSAK
installed 191 on computer
overwrote 191 with the 230 hybrid install
deleted the vendor file
deleted the Rim Internal Tools using add/delete
tried to run ap loader and it wouldn't run (double clicked the icon - nothing)
then ran DM to see if it was a connection problem - couldn't connect
(funny thing was device manager showed a usb connection with my pin)
uninstalled and reinstalled DM - no help
I have to get up in 3 hours but this is driving me nuts
any help would be really welcomed

OK, looks like you are doing everything correctly...How about try:

-restarting PC

-Run loader as admin (right click on loader.exe)
-Try launching loader thru BBSAK

Try those...let us know what happens...and will go from there.

Hard reset is a battery pull.

I believe you take battery out, open loader, then at a certain point put battery in.

Neo, I eventually got the wipe to work. BBSAK was fussy. And, yes, I used my password. Nonetheless, the stars aligned and the wipe worked.

I've also had trouble with the later versions of BBSAK. They (1.4 and 1.5) seem to do what they're supposed to do, but they never finish. After a period of time, I just assume they're done and close them. When you wipe, the 'Completed' box comes up fairly quickly; it actually takes it a few minutes to complete the wipe for me. The box pops up way too early.

I'm not a programmer by any means but I believe when BBSAK says completed after pressing the wipe button, it means that it has completed the command to wipe the phone. Since the phone doesn't have an OS on it after the wipe, it can't tell BBSAK that its completed the wipe. Just my two cents.
