Thread: Update Email from BB

Guys,

apparently, the monkeys at Sprint don't have a clue and you guessed it, I'm on a Sprint phone. Is it possible to DL the Verizon one and install it on a Sprint Tour? I'm getting antsy. lol.

It's possible but considering you are on separate networks it may brick your phone or give you an error code. You can try, but I do not recommend it.

I'm not sure I'd give that a whirl. BUT, have you tried to connect your phone and go to the BB update site and see what happens?

Thanks all for the advice. I'll stay put until Sprint actually puts it out. TM, I've only checked the websites at both RIM and Sprint for the update. Unfortunately, neither of them show any semblance of an upgrade. That's okay though. I'll keep clicking my heels and hope that the great Oz can get me an update. I'm tempted to go the route of installing the leak just to appease my inner BB voice. lol

In my case, that link still shows the 4.7.1.40 link on VZW.

Go to BlackBerry - Update your Device Software and connect your device. Once the page loads, click the "Check for updates" link and it should open App Loader. If the .53 update is available for your carrier it should show as the "Preferred" install.

wow thats funny cuz i went through the link i posted and it loaded .53 using my dm with no problems

I am on Sprint also and I loaded the leaked .53 from here and it works great. Better than .40 and .42.
