Thread: Voicemail badge won't clear!

I swapped the Tour out for a new one yesterday and in the process of setting it up I received two voicemails. I had not installed VVM yet. Because I'm waiting on my hybrid PRL to push through, I didn't try to call and clear them. I was however able to reload most of my apps, including VVM.

I ran VVM and cleared/deleted the messages. However, I still have the standard voicemail notification badge on the homescreen and after several reboots and battery pulls, it will not go away. It's the (what I call) BB VM icon, not the VVM notification. How can I clear it?

Just a shot in the dark here TM....Try calling your voice mailbox. This action may reset the notification.

Yeah I tried that one. It's almost as if VVM has taken over the notification system. I'm considering removing VVM, calling VM and clearing (I hope) then reinstalling VVM.

You can also try another visual voice mail called you mail. It is free!! The website is youmail.com

There should be a way to disable it so you can access your original Inbox. Have you tryed *86

Yup yup...

I tried calling VZW to see if they could reset it. BUT, the hybrid PRL hasn't pushed yet and I've dropped the call both times I've tried :laugh2:

Yeah I thought the same thing. But I'm headed to the in-laws later and somewhere on the hour drive I'm sure to have a few bars...

Hey TM...
Just a thought here. I noticed that you are running the 4.7.1.42 OS for that 9630.
Is this still the case and if it is you may want to consider reverting back to the Stock OS that came with the device.
My tour has been rock solid and so I have not dared to trick the OS out at all.

I'm considering it. The first thing I did was upgrade the OS, then set up BES. One question I haven't figured out. If I go back to .40, how the heck do I restore my BBM contacts??? I'm running 5.0 and apparently the auto restore feature isn't working on BES?

If you make a backup through the DM, you can restore your BBM contacts through the restore app. Works like a charm.
