Question WANTED - GPS Tracking app for Tour

    Folks,

I've been looking for a BB Tour GPS tracking app. I have come across some but they don't seem to work.

I bike ride 5 to 6 days a week and I would like my wife to be able to see where I'm at while on my trek. The other reasons would be because it could also show information like speed, distance, route..... but mostly to put my wife's mind at ease while I'm out riding.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

    Pat

Jason, I dl'ed it and installed. The maps look great. The problem I'm having is that it is not accurate. It shows me about two to three blocks away from where I'm actually at. I'll keep looking.

thanks for the suggestion and the effort. :You_Rock_Emoticon:

Didn't find it on App World. I used the link that Bryan put up and went to the website. It doesn't show Tour listed as available but I'm going to try the 4.7 Storm version.

Success Guys. I dl'ed BlipPlus and it works like a champ. The shortest tracking interval is 15 minutes but that's cool. It will save on the battery. The website looks pretty cool and the features are great given that it is a free setup. I'm waiting for the device to update to see how it looks on the screen. I guess I should go somewhere to actually check the mapping feature. lol.

thanks for the help and recommendation. I'll keep you abreast of any news.

You could also try Sanoodi SMap - www.sanoodi.com. I use it on my Storm and it's great for tracking & recording routes. You can view them in realtime on their website, upload to the website, save to GPX or KML files on the device and import into Google Earth. The on-device software also give realtime data e.g speed, distance & time etc.
Excellent free software and good support. Well worth checking out. Not sure of compatibility with Tour though.

Updated News - Although Blip works well, I can't seem to get it create a map showing the traveled path. I think that some of it has to do with the 15 minute intervals it sends information back to the home server.

I looked into sanoodi but it doesn't have my device listed on it.

I'm currently looking into BuddyWay. By the looks of it, it reports back every 3 minutes. I'll let you know what I find.

Now I'm not an advocate for Google Maps by any means but, I do have it working accurately enough to see where I am in my house... One thing I learned with some of these GPS apps is, they need a little time to settle into your device... If you find one you like with the options you need, stick with it for a while and use it regularly. This will help it get more accurate. MMM.... And make sure all of your permissions are set to allow. I hope this helps and something we have suggested works...
