OK. I found the folder "Loader Files". In that folder I have two additional folders:
I renamed the 9630-v220.127.116.11_P18.104.22.168 folder to "A9630-v22.214.171.124_P126.96.36.199" and it didn't help. I've been playing with Plazmic and loaded a theme onto the phone. During the process, it asked if I wanted to either downgrade Documents To Go or remove it. It also had only the option to downgrade or remove BBM 4.7. I'm running 5.0.
I went through the process just to see and YUP! It removed Documents To Go and BBM. BBM 5.0 was still on there but it refused to work. I removed it through Options / Advanced Options / Applications and reinstalled (BBM 5.0) and it works great once again.
I'm stumped. Did I rename the wrong folder? Should I remove both the OS and the Desktop Software, then reinstall just the Desktop Software and see what happens?
If I remove the check, the option changes from downgrade to remove. I've renamed the OS folder to "CRAP" and it did the same. I'm going to reboot Windows after the rename and see if that makes a difference. I'm also going to reboot the phone.
That didn't work either. I've pulled the whole alx file for DTG out of the OS folder. Screw renaming it. BUT I can't find the alx file for BBM. I'm guessing it's in the core install and can't be removed/renamed like this?
The phone is still booting...LOL. WOW Vista beat it! That's scary. As soon as it loads I'll check. Can I rename the original BBM 4.7 app as well? It keeps asking the same (downgrade/remove)?
easy way to do that is as follow:
go to your os java folder
create a new folder and named to removed files
locate all the files named net_rim_bb_qm_per and move them to the folder you just created, do the same for the docst to go files that would stop the dm to ask you to reload them, do not delete them just move them
Yeah there were several of them actually and a boatload for DTG. They are all in the Removed Files folder in the Java folder now. I just finished a reboot (got ur message after I restarted LOL)...
Nope. Nothing has changed. It's still showing the same thing on DM.
On my wife's PC with her Pearl Flip I have none of these problems LOL. Figures. OK...when I got the phone, the only thing I did was install the DM. I didn't install any OS to the PC. Should I remove the OS, remove DM, remove the RIM folder and reinstall the DM?
