Nicky would you mind doing a hanheld wipe and choosing the delete 3rd party apps options. And let us know if the boot time is any better?

I realize that just thought maybe they had tried one to see and now it was biting them in the arse..

her lowest boot up time was 8:56... before the wipe and re-install. stay tuned...

ok boot up time on a completely wiped stock os. with not a taint of info on it...... 6:31 did a second one and got 4:12 not bad... no problem. im home sick.. staying in so time is no issue here lol

I would suggest loading one app at a time and seeing which one might be causing the boot up time to increase

sweet that's much better. I'm curious to see if you can figure which app it was.

Did you try the handheld wipe on both of your devices?

i think its google maps! i downloaded just google maps. and it took 9 min. i deleted it and it took 4:24

Wow! I have google maps installed and don't have that issue? There is something going, do you your gps set to on or 911 only? I ask because I have mine set to 911 and only turn it on when needed. Maybe if it is set to on it causes the issue?

i did a side by side with her phone and mine. hers no google maps. mine with all loaded except deleted my google maps.

that's really weird. I d/l google maps a while ago to see if it worked for me on telus. It didnt' so I deleted it but I never had the long boot up time like that

my time is going lower and lower. but i need all my other apps. and both phones are set to 911 only. the only apps she has is viigo. bb weather. and pandora.

check this out... i deleted extreme labs speed test and just did a full battery pull re-boot in 2:58.... is it really an app causing this extreme delay??? im blown away the speed test is less then 100kb...

So I just tested my Tour which is loaded with Google Maps, BB Maps, Where, Opera and about 10 other apps. Boot up time was 3 minutes 34 seconds. I deleted Google Maps and my boot up time was 3 minutes 32 seconds. SO I don't think it's google maps, at least not on my phone.

i dont know what to even make of this lol... my re-boot time dropped 8 minutes from deleting vvm, bb maps, speed test, and google maps

well that one makes more sense. It's one of those apps that is always running. Is it designed for the tour did it work properly?

:laugh2:it was crazy when i would install a hybrid it would take an hour. as oppsed to 20 min on my storm. i was like mmmmm k something isnt right. im waiting for my requesting hybrid from irtehun and ill be re-posting my results

I have never used that app before so can't comment specifically. But it is shocking that this one app would cause such a big drop.

it would say connection error every time i opened it but then id click ok and speed test would run fine.

its xtreme labs speed test. its tests the upload and download speeds max and average. i had it on the storm as well.
my results incase anyone is interested in my speed tests. lol
in nyc max to date 612 bits/s down 512 up
in low populated poconos i got up to 867 kbits/s down 654 up
in miami. 639 down 552 up

I have to ask why did you load the hybrids? I love my tour and honestly don't feel the need to change anything....yet
