    Who has trackball problems?

    First opened up the tour and the ball wouldn't even scroll right, up and down worked fine though. I had to jack the sensitivity all the way up for it just go to the right, I read on crack berry of tons of people having this problem, anyone here?

    Edit: I also notice some color banding

    No color issues here but I have noticed occasional sensitivity issues with the trackball. But never really gave it a thought since all my previous trackballs had their on and off days

    I have no issues either. It is my first trackball device but it appears to do everything I ask of it.

    I do remember one of our members reporting the same issue and he returned the deivce and his replacement wasn't giving him any issues. Could be a hardware malfunction.?.

    my trackball is fine. i have heard people are having troubles with it getting stuck but mine thankfully is running just fine.

    i had this problem. and read somewhere to turn the phone off. press the trackball in and roll it around all different ways while firmly pressing it in. since then i havnt had any problems. but since day one my trackball seems like an after market trackball. like to smoothe and somewhat worn when looked at next to my fiancee's her trackball looks almost like felt black. and hers works flawless and feels flawless. mine is more like a completely smoothe no felt like feeling to it. baught in the same store. same time. its a known issue. if your not happy return it for a new one or call verizon tell them to send you a replacement.

    Mine was having problems scrolling left and right. I also had a loose battery door. Exchanged for a new one and everything is great.

    Since adjusting the trackball sensitivity to 80/80, I have not had any problems. It was a little sluggish before though.

    Here's a crazy little trick I read on another forum that works quite well (i do not take credit for this find, just can't recall who on CB posted this). Take a small towel, or Kleenex and dampen it with water and dilute alcohol (10% alcohol or so). What I used was one of those wetnaps they give you from the restaurant. Anyway, take that cover the trackball with it and roll it around in each direction. I thought the person who originally posted it was crazy but believe it or not, totally fixed the trackball issue.

    80/80 fixed my issues...mine would not go right to well.....seems good now.....lets see how long it lasts

    Didn't work as well for me, mine still stalls and skips lines in text. Guess I'll swap it tomorrow. I had set it to 80-80 a few days ago hoping that would work.

    Cruz did you try my trick? Worked wonders for my trackball.

    I gave it a shot to no avail. I just got off the phone with Verizon, they are saying it is a known software issue, and that RIM has promised a software update to correct the issue. Verizon further states that said software release is promised within 30 days of the Tour release date.

    My question is, those that have replaced the device and the issue was corrected, would it not be hardware related?

    They are calling it a software issue, hmm, would love to believe that. I had my device replaced yesterday because of the battery door and the trackball works fine. So that would lead me to believe it's hardware not software.
