Welcome to BlackberryOS Stale Pancake.
I think this thread just convinced me to get the tour! I was on the fence but looks like I have made my decision and for that I thank you.
I just had the most amazing luck. After all my troubles trying to sync media I finally got past this issue, and on the Windows 7 RC download OS no less. On Vista the BlackBerry Media Sync installs, but unexpectedly shut down as soon as I started it. I've had this problem since Media Sync first released and on multiple computers. I had written the app off long ago.
Determined to get past this I have been looking through the RIM support pages on RIM's site. I finally ran across a direct link to download the media sync as a stand-alone app.
BlackBerry Media Sync
Once you have that, you can install it. I did this in Windows 7 by changing the app running space to Windows XP SP2 in the properties. Then I installed it and am able to run it.
In Windows Media Player 11 within Windows 7 I created a few playlists. Favorites, Podcasts, some album-specific playlists. Attached my Tour, unloaded Windows Media Player and executed the BlackBerry Sync.
The program finally launched without an unexpected quit. A first for me. My Windows Media Player playlists were all displayed and I checked off the sync items and watched it work. Disconnected my Tour, watched the Music app scan my new library and son-of-gun there are my playlists with my songs in their proper order.
Finally, I have sync for media. And with that, I am finally a very happy camper. Now my BlackBerry does just about everything I could want.

Welcome to BBOS stale pancake and thanks for the great review.
Managed to push 595 songs in this now. Oddly enough the headphones that came with the BB don't work at all. But normal head phones are fine. I'll have to order something nice.
Maybe I don't need my Creative Zen after all. :-)
