    Possible DRM protected song problems

    An issue has been identified regarding DRM-protected music on the BlackBerry Tour as follows:
    1. 10MB of internal Flash memory has been reserved on the device to store DRM licenses. When DRM-protected content is either downloaded over-the-air (OTA) or side-loaded from a PC, a DRM license is stored in this reserved space.
    2. This 10MB capacity translates into approximately 1600 songs.
    3. The device will come out of the box with a 2GB SD card which can store approximately 500 songs. Customers who keep/use the 2GB SD card will experience no issue. However, if a user changes out the 2GB card for an 8GB card, and has an unusually high percentage of DRM-protected songs in their collection, they may run into the 1600 song limitation. Based on user data, most customers will not experience this limitation.
    Remember DRM applies only to subscription tracks side-loaded from the PC or tracks purchased OTA. Tracks purchased on the PC or Web are in the MP3 format so no DRM.
    The 10MB internal flash memory does support 1600 DRM-protected tracks, however, 1600 is the maximum number of tracks supported over a running 30-day period. DRM licenses are not removed even if a user deletes the tracks. Licenses are replaced only as they expire (+30 days old).
    Example:
    User sideloads 1000 DRM protected tracks
    DRM Licenses stored = 1000 licenses
    Tracks = 1000
    User deletes 500 DRM-protected tracks before license expiration
    DRM Licenses stored = 1000 licenses
    Tracks = 500
    User then side-loads 800 DRM-protected tracks
    DRM Licenses stored = 1300 licenses
    Tracks = 1300
    User then deletes 500 DRM-protected tracks
    DRM Licenses stored = 1300 licenses
    Tracks = 800
    User then side-loads 500 DRM-protected tracks
    First 300 tracks are successfully side-loaded
    DRM Licenses stored = 1600 licenses (MAX)
    Remaining 200 tracks will side-load only if there are licenses in the database >30 days old
    User then deletes all DRM-protected tracks
    DRM Licenses stored = 1600 (MAX)
    Tracks = 0
    User then side-loads 100 DRM-protected tracks
    DRM Licenses stored = 1600 (MAX)
    100 tracks will side-load only if there are licenses in the database >30 days old

    I can not link where I got this, but trust me its real.

    Welcome, not that big of a deal unless you have a lot of songs
