    Returning Tour:

So this morning I finally activated my Tour on my account, and while doing this I noticed the bottom part of the phone that says Verizon looked loose. I pushed it down and it popped off. I put it back on, but between this and the battery cover I have been dissappointed in the build quality of the phone.

Wow. I have bad luck so I'm expecting mine to have all these problems as well.

I am concerned about the build of the Tour, while at BB I had the young man open 6 Tours and this had the best battery cover and it is still slightly loose. I don't know what I am going to do. I love some features that the storm is missing (the search feature in the phone book). Heading to BB and will update you later. If I can not find one that feels better, studier I may be back with the storm until they have a better batch.

    Thanks for the congrats.

Another post indicated that the larger battery (1600?) eliminated the junk-in-the-battery-door-trunk wiggle issue.

Even though I am a dedicated 9530 die-hard, best of luck!

I dont' have one yet so I don't know if it's tall enough but take that sim card out and tape it to the battery itself might fill the gap enought to tighten it.

I'm going to have to spend some time playing with it before I get off my wallet I think. 30 days though right guys it's doesn't have to be returned in 30 days it just has to be reported. I quess best case senario would be for it to hit back order and give them time to fix the door and the molding and the.....at:

I have read else where that RIM designed the space in the back to be a business card holder as well

Kidding of course, but you could put a business card in the back between the battery and door. I just tried it and it tightens it up quite a bit.

I still like the metal door on the Storm much better.

    Just my thoughts...

I will have to admit from my personal experiences, it's like most new releases... hit or miss... I was sorta lucky w/ my Storm, nothing bad enough that would make a lazy guy like me go and exchange it... :P I did not have such luck w/ the Tour, I had to return one the following day but the replacement is perfect in every way but still has the usual flaws: gets real warm on the bottom from time to time, discoloration when pressing the screen and center stack of buttons, etc. I still might return it... not too sure yet especially since the Storm 2 appears ready to be launched within the next few months...

But once again why should BB users have to invent tricks just to make the phone works and feel right. This is really sad to see and the only way to fix it will be to release Tour 2 in a year and so those with the first Tour get screw**

I feel the pain but it's just what happens to early adopters... it's the same with new model cars... think about how pissed THOSE people are... our phone is a few hundred tops... cars are at the very least $20k+ Gotta deal w/ the pain if u want the latest and greatest, that's how I see it... no pain, no gain! :laugh2:

I had a business card but I want it to be snug like others. And I am used to returning items..on my 4th storm. I really missed the storm screen. Darn you tour.

I could not agree more. It is disheartening to hear such issues so early. I said all along that I would happily congratulate all the new Tour owners for sticking it out. How disappointing you must feel.

Just got my Tour in. I do have the battery door movement, not a lot or making me want to return it. No screen problems, its nice and tight. I actually think the Tour screen looks so much better then the Storm screen. Thankfully I will be using both the Storm and the Tour so I get the best of both worlds.
