Are you kidding me jlevy....I looked at my Tour this morning to find that it was Canadian. Just got it yesterday. I was at the VZW outlet just looking at them just days before and they were the Mexican models. I request a Canadian model over the Mexican device Saturday when I bought my 9630. The CSR said that were all out of the Mexican ones anyway..haha

Just stating my observations good sir. Many who reported problems with their Tour said they were made in Canada. It seems that the ones made in Mexico are not having the battery door problem. But this is by no means a scientific study I was just responding to another persons post about a trend developing.

Maybe you should spend more time with your daughter, she is obviously jealous of your Tour.

Mine's from Canada. Battery door a tad loose; trackball ain't great. Works OK at 90 horizontal, but sort of like riding a rocket sometimes. I've got about a week left; it may be going back. Sort of on the fence. Everything else is working great; would hate to solve one problem, inherit a new problem.

2 made in Mexico, 1 in Canada. All have trackball and battery door issues.

First was Canada 1 .... slightly loose battery door, which I didn't feel was an issue, but the trackball was nuts. At 70 it would literally not move at all east/west. At 80 it would move, but was jerky. At 90 it moved great, but was something like a bucking bronco. On Friday VZW exchanged it no questions asked, and the new one (Mexico 5) is fabulous so far.
