Tour vs Storm Start Up Time Test

This may just be me but I ran a startup test betweeen the the two. This may not be the most scientific of test but I am loving the Tours startup time. Here is how I ran the test:

Took the batter out of each phone and used my coaches stop watch. had my wife and son put the batters back in at the same time. Then I ran each phone separately with my wife putting the battery into each one and timed them. Lastly I put the battery in myself and ran the wife ran the stop watch. Here are my results.

Average Tour startup time to use: 2:17.05
Average Stomr startup time to use: 3:41.36

This is the average of 10 tests on each phone. In my case the Tour shaves almost a full minute off, I like.

Disclaimer: My Storm has some apps on it, and the Tour does not. Not sure how this effects the startup time. Maybe tomorrow I will wipe the Storm and run the test again.

That right there is what family is all about lol.

Sounds promising, I was always annoyed with how long it took the Storm to start up.

Heck I would take even 10 seconds shaved off the Storm start up time. Thanks for the post and thank the family for us

Yeah, once it took 5mins while at the FBR Open trying to show it off to some Big Whigs. It froze, I did a BP and 5 mins later, they were not very impressed.:aargh4:

The Tour and Storm share the same hardware except the touchscreen. The only reason the tour might be a little faster is from tweaks in the OS (which is at its core.. the same as the Storm's OS) or not loading apps or touchscreen specific modules (accellerometer for example).

I can get my Storm to start up in less than 2 minutes if I remove all apps on it.

I can't get mine to start up in 2 min even with a head start.

You had your cell phone at the FBR Open? Thats a no-no

Kidding, they just won't let you talk on them near the golf holes. I live in Scottsdale and the FBR Open (As I am sure you already know) is the social event of January!

I have noticed much quicker start up times with my Tour vs Storm also.

Yeah I know but where I am its all good, I sit in a box on hole 16 for the Thunderbirds, they run the tourney.

I'm on FLW and the 101, I can literally walk to the tourney, and I do walk home from the birds nest if I have had too many.

I put the same apps on both phones this morning and the startup time difference was almost a minute and a half...actual time (run 5 times) is 1:24 difference.

Both phones have standard software out of the package and the following apps: Poynt, VyMal, GoogleMaps, Pandora, CaptureIt

Nice! I need your seats. I usually get corporate tags so I can eat and drink for free when at the tourny. The 16th hole is a riot! I am in Troon North off Dynamite.

So far my reset times are about 1.20 faster with Tour

Great course, I have not played Troon yet, but plan to...hopefully this summer if it cools off. I am glad to see your start times are about the same as mine. I only wish it was about 1 minute faster.

I must be lucky because my Storm starts up in a little under 2 min. When I had BBC v3.5 it was about 1:30 to startup. I have added some apps since then so that could be part of the slow down.
