Thread: Battery Life on The BlackBerry Tour

Hey, I just actually traded me Blackberry Storm for the Tour at no charge, for basically complaining soo much about the Storm. I've had the Tour for the a day or so. And it's really fast, same basic features as the Storm in terms of programs. But Battery Life is key for me here, since what's the point of having all these features if the phone is gunna die in like a hour or so. So far, for me it's been so/so. I would like to know, if anybody else out there, has any comments on there battery life, and the usual usage details equaling your battery life.

So far I am getting about the same battery life as my Storm. I am using my 1600 Mah extended battery that I had in my Storm. I am surprised that I am getting the same usage when the screen is half the size. As a side note, the extra size of the battery keeps the back cover from slopping around. Pain that is a great piece of info right there :fing02: I too have that same battery and will make sure I put that right into the Tour when it comes Wed.

I'm getting more & more apprehensive about switching to the Tour. There seems to be more negatives then positives. I'm absolutely frustrated with the battery life on my Storm. I was hoping theTour would be more efficient with the battery life. Apparently thats not the csae.

I realize that people are using their Tours a little more then normal since its new, so that may play a factor in the batter life as well. Do any of you new Tour users agree with that or are using the phone as often as you did with your Storms?

My Tour's battery life seem ok to me... nothing spectacular but will get me through the day... I dunno how you folks did it w/ the normal battery on the Storm... I had the Seidio extended battery (2600mAh) almost since I got the Storm... :P

Great point on the playing on it since its new. Yes, I have been on it quite a bit, but I surfed the web a lot on my Storm and I do about 25-40 emails a day. Maybe 50 text msgs and 4 hours at least of talk time. So far I am getting the about the same battery. I am at 40% right now and I took it off charge at 9am. It is 5:45pm now. That is about where I would be with my Storm.

Thats not bad. Our usage on the Storm is pretty similar.

Did you use the extended battery in the Storm by any chance? I never broke down & bought, but I think I have no choice this time around.

Yes digdog I do also have the 2600 Mah with extended battery door for the Storm. However, I didnt like how much bigger it made my phone. I keep it for heavy usage days that I know I will be traveling and no charger available.

At this point I am using my Storm 1600 Mah (Somewhat Extended) battery with my Tour. It stopped the sloppiness of the battery door that is standard on the Tour

Sounds good. I think the 1600mAh battery is the way to go. I'm ordering it now!!

Well, the Tour arrives tomorrow, so I'll make sure that I charge both batteries. That way I have time to play.

Just checked my battery log from MeterBerry and I lose about 2-3% every hour. I charged it and then left it alone overnight cuz I won't be using it, I wanted to see how the battery life is with no usage whatsoever on my part. I did get emails and the occasional FB alert. I just hope because it's a brand new battery that it might need some time and several charges to "settle in" before it's true capacity is shown.
