Thread: switching from cdma to gsm

Hi guys,


i got a tour from verison usa that i want to use on airtel network here in nigeria. the fone is unlocked and voice calls are working perfectly. i noticed that a number appears on my screen when am making call. i have used the command ##000000(cdma service edit screen) to change it but after deleting the number and saving, fone restarts and when i check again, its still there.

please how do i change my fone to a full gsm fone cos i dont want any cdma stuff. pls assist.

once it is unlocked you go to OPTIONS --> MOBILE NETWORK & thats where you can select GSM, 2g, 3g, etc, etc as well as other carrier/network settings...Don't forget you need a GSM SIM card from the carrier.

thamks for your quick response but i still i have issues. i am already using the fone on gsm network but i noticed that when i want to check my balance, my fone starts dialling the number rather than initiating the network service. i am assuming this is cos it was previously a cdma fone. thats why i asked if it possible to remove all the cdma stuff?

Hi, the issue of dialing your account balance string (e.g *556#); solution- goto Manage Connections/Mobile Network Options/press menu key & select Diagnostic test/press menu & select Run waiting for the process to finish, then check ur balance and it will be ok.
