Thread: Release Dates for Blackberry Tour?

So I thought, since it's getting close to the speculated release dates for the Tour, mind as well start a thread about it. But here's my dates I think.

Telus - Late June
Bell - Late July
Verizon - Late July/Early August

What do you guys think?

I'm with telus and i'm thinking about getting the tour...or maybe the storm 2..

I quess it all depends on who the storm 1 holds up and what eles V2 has to offer.

I'm gonna say Telus before Bell.

Sceptical on the Verizon projection. Don't think we will see the Tour and the Storm II (Odin) released that close together.

I'm skeptical of any vzw dates. I will believe it when i see it in my hands.

You guys do have me thinking about that Verizon date. But why would they not release the Tour before the Odin? Push out the Odin early, just like the Storm I. I'm gonna say Tour in a couple months, then Storm II, with delays 1Q 2010.

So I heard something, and I'm gonna stick with my July/August release date for Verizon.

surfing through viigo today and came across a report on blackberry cool that Bell mobility has some promo material showing up in thier inventory!
no indication of a release date but getting closer.

on another note my employer shares a building with Bell's warehouse and I think tech support. anyway I was coming into work today and a guy in a very flashy suit was outside having a smoke playing with his BB. I asked him which phone it was and he laughed and said the bold. I called bs, i asked when did bell get the bold....let me see?

It was in fact a tour and it felt and looked awesome! I played with it for a few seconds, I tried to find what os was on it but dude stopped me. He told me he wasn't allowed to show that but did tell me he was testing a 5.0 release.

I had to ask is it being released with 5.0 and his answer was no it's releasing before 5.0 testing is done.

He is a marketing director and said he was there to sort and prepare the retail store inventory distibution order.

He said they waiting for the word but it sounded like they are fully stocked and ready to go!

That's true I believe. If it releases next month or July, it isn't said that 5.0 is gonna be released till at least August/September. So I see it being released 4.7.1. Now on Verizon I heard different, I heard it's gonna be 5.0. But with it releasing in July, I don't see 5.0 being on it. Unless they go back to the original date I seen. It might be released with 5.0. That's just from what I know.

You bet. But in the US, the Tour is rumored to be picked up by vzw where the Atlas looks to be heading to AT&T. So looks like customers will have to make a decision between CDMA and GSM.

Depends on the users, reports have it where the Atlas is set for different consumers on the market. But like everyone else, we have tiny information over this

Nope, both are CDMA devices. The Atlas is at Verizon right now.

Do you know anything about the Atlas' specs? Is it a Tour with WiFi, the Storm 2 or something else?

It's not the Storm 2 that's for sure. But all I know, is it's going to be advertised toward a different group of people than the Tour does. So I don't think you'll be seeing the Tour with Wi-Fi. Will you see the Atlas as a Curve replacement with Wi-Fi? Probably, but I'm not too sure on it. It's not the Aries either, no Wi-Fi.
