Thread: Bricked Tour???

Yup, it's me having issues AGAIN!!!
Was trying to upgrade my friends Tour and it has done the exact same thing to me that my other friends storm did...stalled out with errors during the upgrade process and DM isnt' recognzing it now. I have pulled out the battery and am trying a few things but nothing.

I will go through the tutorial that was suggested to me with the Storm but am wondering if there is anything different I need to know about doing this to the Tour. Haven't had anything to do with them till now and, of course, I have messed it up..lol....Think from now on I will stick to upgrading my own phone! LOL.

Any tips would be most wekcome,

Try using JL_CMDER...

The Software is in my Sig...

Alternatively BBSAK could wipe the phone and let you re-install.

sorry for not getting back to you sooner. I was away in Alberta when this all happened and haven't had a spare second since our return.
Miraculously the device 'fixed' itself! About a half hour after we tried the upgrade it seemed to reset itself and is working fine still on the old os.

Not going to try to upgrade again until we get DM 5.0 on his laptop. Then will go from there.

Whenever you do an upgrade be sure to wipe the device first. ALWAYS START FRESH!

Glad to hear it! I too am a firm believer in a full phone wipe before installing a new OS. BBSAK makes it super simple. I've heard good things about JLCommander but never used it personally.

Mine is so not working and has the blinking red light and rebooting. I have no screen so I cant see the information. I am trying to wipe to reload but it doesn't seem to be working with my pc.. Loaded my desktop manager and the OS to install. My son doesn't know the password either so I am wiping the device and starting over. I just can't get the device to play nice with my pc. Sadly I work in IT and set these up all the time. None of my tools are working but I feel I need fresh eyes. PLEASE HELP.

Also downloaded USB and serial drivers that is on bbs website. Machine sees it is a blackberry smarktphone but never puts it on the com port or USB. Can't use the device to allow USB connection to reload but the OS is hosed already since that is the reason for this delicious excersize.
