This is one of the most frustrating things I've had happen to me since I've gotten my BB Tour. I bought it stock-build from Best Buy the Day before Christmas and by that Sat. night I was back in the store doing a device swap because the BB wiped itself and through up the "Reload Software: 552" error on a white screen. I was even more frustrated with the replacement phone did the same thing at random times. Fortunately I discovered a couple articles on different forum sites on how to re-install the system software on a "bricked blackberry". Believe me this is no simple task.

A buddy of mine (who experienced the same issue with his BB Tour) found a hybrid from (from Juicey) and upgraded both our phones to OS 5.0.xxxx. Well I no longer have the "white screen of death" but now I have an issue that the phone wants to update the "Preferred Network List" and that locks the phone where the only solution is to pull the battery. :aargh4:

I am so p'ed off with this phone I'm about to take it back to best buy and pay the $80-difference on the Samsung Moment (Android OS) and be done with it. The "CHICK" at best buy tonight told me I should only install applications from the Blackberry World as any other applications will crash the phone. Mind you... these applications have worked on the phone Blackberries I've had without any issues (Storm I, Pearl, Curve, and Bold).

I truely hate this phone, or this phone and sprint, or this phone-sprint-OS. WHich ever combination it is, I've had a VERY bad experience with it.

I truely hope someone has a better explanation or better solution for this issue.

ps: though all of this, my trusty iPhone served well as my back up.
