Thread: SMS Custom Ringtone does not give audible alert in holster?

Am I missing the boat on this? If this is a known issue I haven't seen it.

On the stock Sprint OS for the Tour (4.7.X.X), if you change a contact's SMS tone, and set the profile to notify you with an audible alert when holstered, it doesn't do it. I've tried this on 3 different stock Sprint Tour's. It will vibrate all day long. It just won't give an audible alert. This is using the stock ringtones (any of them).

Anyone else found this?

have you tried going into the profile setting and making sure it also says to ring in holster?

profiles>advanced>editprofiles

Checking now...but one thing to note is that when you delete the custom ringtone for that contact it works fine. No settings change. It just works.

And yup...it's set to ring in holster.

Hmm this is very odd. I have never heard anyone mention this.

A friend of mine had this issue and somehow the theme was interfering. Went back to the stock theme and it works perfect.

I thought the same about themes...it's running the stock theme. No other themes have been installed.

No not yet. This was found by a buddy who is a tech at Sprint. He's tried the customer's original phone (this is her third or fourth), the store demo, another employee's phone and all were the same. On his, running .230 it's fine.

Well if its in the os sounds like sprint needs to get something out to fix it.

My thinking too. I don't remember that issue EVER happening with mine. But I'm on VZW.

I would think it would b in the os not the network. What version does sprint have and vzw

VZW is 4.7.1.40. They released .52 but pulled it. Sprint is on either .52 or .57

hmm that could be the killer there.. I would try a different os on the phone until sprint gets it together

I'm going to get new leak and see if that fixes problem.

I can't find anyone else with this issue. I've talked to several people and none of the other team has seen it that I'm aware of.
