Zen, Zen, Zen....sometimes it's nice to roll back to the 'ol speedy Precision Zen theme isn't it? well maybe not. But the simplicity is nice! So I started customizing the Default Zen theme to my liking, complete with red icons. Then I added a couple more tweaks. Then a couple more. Next thing I know, I have started making my own version of Precision Zen...BBZen Pro.
This theme is a little different than what most of you theme junkies are used to. There are no fancy animations, no hidden docks and its not very wallpaper friendly. But that doesn't mean this baby isn't sexy. I replaced the default look with a glass like appearance. The home screen icons pulsate when highlighted and the screen transitions give it a continuous feel. BBZ is also pretty snappy. I really tried to keep the file size to a minimum. I added the normal weather slot in the banner along with and OCD slot. $ key Launches SMS and Spacebar launches QuickLaunch
So give this theme a tryout and let me know how it runs.
Please report all findings in this thread. And as always, do a battery pull after installation and allow the theme to settle in.
I posted this last night in the 95XX forum (which is where I found the link to download the 9630 theme).
"Just tried the 96XX version looks great except when I try to open the browser I get "Uncaught exception: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException" The phone froze and I had to do a battery pull. Fortunately my buddy Nate hooked me up with a great theme a few days ago, so I'll go back to that one. :hail:"
Ironically when I use your Pro v5 Premium Theme, there are no issues, and browser works just fine. I'm running Verizon's 188.8.131.521 O/S. I tried to chime in at lunch-time but for some reason I can't log in to the forums from my Tour (apparently I have multiple issues ) . I wanted to make sure that I had the most current version so I sent my self the link (Zen Theme was active) in an email, browser functioned fine that way. I then tried the green version same thing, error & phone locks up. The Premium still working fine.
I was hoping that 184.108.40.2063 would make the "Uncaught exception: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException" error go away, no such luck though. I did figure out away to get around it, if anyone else is having the same problem.
1) If you open the BBOS mobile site from the application shortcut, then open forums or something, you can then open menu and click go to without any issues.
2) Easier yet, save your favorite web page to quick launch and from there you can use go to from the menu.
The browser works just fine as long as you don't try and open it with the browser icon.
I loaded up 220.127.116.112 (which seems better for me so far) and I'm still getting the error. If you get a few minutes and could fix the bug, I'd be more than happy to throw a few bucks your way. I really like this theme! In the mean time, I've been able to work around the bug.
I loved this theme on my Tour 9630 and have gotten a few more people to get this one just for the pure awesome factor and super simple look, yet very powerful and user friendly. Is it possible to get this ported over to the Torch 9800?
I hope it does as it is my favorite theme of all time.
Unfortunately Junior.. This theme is not compatabile with the torch and not only that but Nate is no longer making themes for BB.. He has moved over to android... Believe me I was/am a huge supporter of Nates themes and am very disappointed to know we won't be seeing any new themes from him.. Posted via mobile device
