Thread: space oddities with predictive type

I have predictive type set up. Within the last week I have noticed when I press space bar it sometimes does not do a space. It only displays thenpredictive type. I end up having to press space 2 or 3 times to get a space. Is there a setting to change this or what did I do to cause this?

This is a first I've heard of this bug. What OS are you running?

I am running 7.1.0.267. I notice it a lot when using UberSocial, but I have also seen it happen when doing texts too. It is not everytime either. I have tried rebooting and checked settings to see if there is anything to correct it. I had been running 7.1.0.267 for a week or so before I started noticing it happen.

Do you use the predictive type? I know that I can turn the BB on the side and have a full keyboard, but I like using it vertical most of the time. Fast and easy when it works right. My only complaint regarding the prectictive type is that the space key is so small. When it is working correctly, I find that I will be typing along and press the space later to figure out I got the "n" instead. It would be nice if it would auto correct a word such as "nownisntime" to be "now is the time".

I am trying to pay attention to when I have the problem I originally described. As I mentioned, I have seen it a lot more in UberSocial than anywhere else. I am positive I have seen it happen when texting too, but I will pay close attention. I am running UberSocial 1.350.

If you have any tips or tricks regarding what keyboard works best, let me know. I have tried the full keyboard in vertical mode and find it too difficult to get the correct keys on the small keyboard.

I don't use predictive type. I've gotten so used to the full keyboard, that's all I use.

Do you use the full keyboard in portrait, landscape, or both? In portriat, I find that the full keyboard is a little close together and to close to the side of the screen. I end up hitting the wrong buttons. Not as easy to use as the portrait keyboard on the iPhone.
