Thread: Blackberry Torch 9850 from Sprint... Thoughts... How to Reboot?

I finally made the leap and got myself a new phone. I went from the 8330 to the 9850 Torch from Sprint. It is taking me a while to get use to the keyboard, but I am starting to like it. I have found that a lot of the apps that I use do not work with the 9850 (i.e. Google Voice, MyFitnessPal, etc.). There are no themes to pick from on BB World, but I am sure they are coming as others carriers pick up the 9850.

Anyway, the reason I write is to see if anyone knows how to reboot the 9850? On my 8330, I knew the key combination to reboot, but on this new one I cannot find the key combo. I have done a few searches, but nothing is showing up for it.

Well if it follows the pattern of the BlackBerry Storm series, then there's no way to do a soft reset on a touchscreen only phone which also includes the BlackBerry Torch 9850/9860. The only way to do a reset would be to remove the battery from the phone.

Ouch! I have a case and it makes it difficult to remove the battery. I tried another app that I found on appworld, but it did not appear to reboot the system. Crazy! I tried all key combinations I could think of to try and reboot it. It seems like there has to be a way to do so.

Hi,if you have quicklaunch or meterberry. They both have reboot apps built in..good luck.

It works well, I've had zero problems, been on my phone for several months now, it's free and you can set it to simulate a battery pull monthly, weekly, or daily.
And don't let anyone tell you that it is not like an actual battery pull because it does the same think that a physical pull does, re-boots the phone.
