too many unlock attempts

ok so , a friend of mine has exceeded the 10 chances to unlock their 9800 , can some one direct me to a solution to fixing this issue . I've read allot of posts on this topic and so far the only solution I've come up with is to wipe the phone with JL Commander and then reload the OS . Can someone tell me if this will work ? or should a pursue another path?

That is correct. You only have 10 chances to enter your password, after that your phone will need to be wiped.
