    Try:

    1. With the BB connected to the power wall, remove the battery

    2. Wait 30 seconds, you should see a red light during that time

    3. Put the battery back, and then it should reboot back to the normal BB home screen. You may notice that the battery sign is red (completely drained). By the way, if the BB does not come back after you put the battery back in, and you wait a few seconds, press the power button.

Sometimes you need to leave the blackberry plugged in to a wall charger for at least 30 min. assuming the device is working fine and it doesn't have any other issues. It worked for me on a few blackberrys.

no, it was my girlfriends old phone. She accidentally hit it with running H2O although there is no evidence that it happened (red lines on battery or phone) exposure was less than a second and she yanked the battery immediately and tried to dry the phone with hair drier, rice the whole works. it has never worked since.
that was around a year ago and I am trying to get it working as my old tour is now getting an intermittent signal and I could use the upgrade.

That may be a different story...batteries, depending on how they are stored don't do well with time. If you had pulled it out a year ago and put it in the refrigerator, that would be the best case scenario. Any other storage type sucks the life out of it.

The good news is you can buy a battery, which should fix your issue...assuming there are no other internal problems. Check out ebay to save some money...

One last thing, I read this a few minutes ago online regarding your DM/64bit issue. It is from a couple months ago so it should be fairly current information.

Completely uninstall your java, restart your PC, run java setup "Run As Administrator"

You can download the latest java from HERE.

This is the source of that subject matter if you want to check it out...cannot install desktop manager on windows 7 64bit - BlackBerry Support Community Forums

I hope all of this helps, I gotta go in a bit...check back later or tomorrow.

Please come back to let me know what happened and how you fixed it...This thread will be a great learning tool for others in the future if you are able to update us...

Thanks, and welcome to the forum!!!

As a side note, I was given an old BB from a friend at work to try and repair...I had a hell of a time trying to get it to just boot up.

I worked on it off and on for about a week...Following the info from the Nuked BB thread, I tried over and over to get it to power up.

I finally left it plugged in for several days and forgot about it. I looked at it one day and it was fully charged. Weird!

If you haven't had it plugged in for a handful of days, it can't hurt to try that out. Worth a shot.
