What about wiping your device and installing a new OS ?
If you take any decision,Don't forget to follow this steps :
1- Check All In One Guide - How To Upgrade Your Device - with Pictures & Videos
2- Check our Downloads Center for the latest official and leaked OS.

Also be sure to close out apps after you are finished using them or some of them will stay open and take up resources on your device which can make it slower. To do this, hit the menu bb button, and select 'close' or 'exit.'

Yes, this is one of the biggest reason the 9800 will be running slow. When your device starts to slow down check your running apps by holding down the menu key and close them one by one.

I use MeterBerry which also tells me that how much free memory is available.
Even though Torch has 4GB memory & 512MB RAM, all the apps get installed in RAM & make it slow. I am always at abt 50% Memory & still I get the timer icon. Have upgraded to latst Hybrid but no joy. Only way out seems to be remove apps & install them using Aerize card loader on your SD card.

As a friendly reminder, Aerize Card Loader is a premium BlackBerry (30 day trial period) software which can be found here:
