Some services offer a type of remote solution online for Blackberry unlocking of hardlocked devices.
What they do is they ask you to install a software so they can connect to your computer (like back office) and then you connect your hardlocked Blackberry device using a data cable and they get it unlocked for you.

This would be ideal and convenient.

A hard locked device cannot be (remotely) unlocked, they are permanently hard locked [blocked counter giving message "MEP code 0 left].

I've browsed high and low for any remote possibility to unlock a mobile device that is permanently hard locked.

To obtain the service, the person would have to personally mail in the device in question, to obtain the services (debrand the BlackBerry, and perform counter reset services (at a cost, of course).

I believe the more modern smartphones would cost more to service vs. the older device.

There is no other way around this.

Yes, it would be very convenient to just have a hard locked device (remotely) unlocked, but the person has exceeded the number of times (10) to enter the MEP unlock code, it's now hard locked.

You would think that after 5 times of entering the wrong code, they would stop?

A price to pay for not reading and/or following instructions.

I think a lot of those who go over are just uniformed or the phone is hot and they have tried to unlock it with nothing to lose. The one I feel bad for are those who may buy a stolen phone to find out they just used up their 10 tries to unlock and now they have a useless phone on their hands.
