Thread: BlackBerry Torch is dead...

I'm desperate! My Torch is randomly rebooting and it doesn't turn on anymore. Since yesterday is dead. I've tried BBSAK, Crackmem, JL_Cmder and see if I turn it back to life and nothing. Two days ago I reloaded through cmd but now my Torch doens't turn on anymore. Help and sorry about my engrlish! :crazy:

Have you wiped it using BBSAK or JL_Cmder ??

As the previous poster said. Have you performed a complete wipe?

Thanks for responses. I've done with both: BBSAK or JL_Cmder .... but since last time my Torch turne off tonite, I failed to connect it to wipe it and reload it again...

Hmm..That means after wiping your Torch,your computer can't recognize it ?

Sometimes I get the battery charging icon, then tries to restart but just to the beginning of the progress line... and then dies!

What I got from you that after wiping,your torch can't load till the white screen "Error 507" that shows that there is no software,have I got you right?

how are you today? from what you have mentioned in the post, it's difficult to really understand the exact situation the device is in. Please attach some screenshots if possible, or give us additional details as to what screens it goes to when you do a battery pull. Does it give you a white screen?? We will be happy to help you here, if only we know what exactly is going on?

If not, try this: first remove the battery from the device for a minute, and put it back in.
Leave the device to charge 2-3 hours, and then, still connected to the USB cable, remove the the battery from the device a few seconds and reinsert it. If it boots--leave it to charge to 100% (check Options > Status for the percentage). If it doesn't reboot on the first attempt, leave it several more hours. I've had one charge for two days before it came back to life after an extreme battery depletion. Every 3-4 hours, with the device still connected to the charger, you can remove and replace the battery to see if it reboots.

If your computer is not even detecting your phone. You must ensure that you have BlackBerry Desktop Software AKA BlackBerry Desktop Manager for the drivers to be properly installed for your phone., Otherwise, no matter what you do, BBSAK will never detect the device.

After you install BlackBerry Desktop Software, make sure it is not running, then launch BBSaK, wipe you device completely, then load your new OS

Download the Operating System from the below link:

9800 - 6.0.0.600 (Or any 9800 OS of your choice)


Make sure you create a backup before you perform the below!


Instructions For Installation:


1) Install the *.exe file you just downloaded.



2) Navigate to Computer >>> C: >>> Program Files >>> Common Files >>> Research in Motion >>> Apploader



OR to Computer >>> C: >>> Program Files (x86) >>> Common Files >>> Research in Motion >>> Apploader (if you have a 64-Bit Windows Operating System)



3) Delete the file named vendor.xml



4) Connect your BlackBerry through the USB port



5) Run loader.exe



6) Follow the on-screen instructions and enjoy.


When you click NEXT after the last step, you will get a list of components that you can check or uncheck. Ensure you do not touch anything you don't know of. Also, uncheck anything you definately won't be using.



Example, no need to install all the Instant Messaging Clients such as Yahoo Messneger, Windows Live Messenger, Facebook, etc. Only install the ones you actually use to save the precious memory on your BlackBerry Device.

Yesterday I relive my Torch and installer 6.0.0.600 OS... It lasted a day and restarted again. Record time!
Usually was rebooting every hour. Let's see how much time takes working properly!

Does this mean that you removed the .600 OS and went back to an older OS?

When my Torch turned on again I loaded .448 and after upgraded to .600 my friend.
.600 OS has improved, at least my Torch took one day to reboot! =/

That's great. I'm still holding off on upgrading my Torch to .600 just to make sure everything is working well for those that have upgraded.

Ah, you had a reboot issue going on, probably due to high memory leak. Glad to see it's fixed.
