Generally Desktop Manager is the way to go, unless you have a carrier update that you can check and download OTA (over the air) directly to your device. To check for a update from your device go to... Options... Device... Software Updates. If there is a update, make sure you leave your device plugged into a charger as updating OTA will take some time and battery. You will not want to use your device until the update is complete.
If there is no update via OTA, then you will want to install via Desktop Manager. First find out what OS you have installed by going to... Options... Device... About Device Versions... and then see the 3rd line down. Should say something like v6.0.0.xxx. That is your current OS installed on your device. Now, the question is whether you want to upgrade or downgrade the OS to see if it will be compatible with your vehicle? Once you have decided on a OS to install, follow our online tutorial on how to do this... http://www.blackberryos.com/forums/b...es-videos.html
