BlackBerry Slider is a touchscreen device!

Finally, we have hard proof that the Slider 9800 is a touch screen. Before today it has only been speculation and word of mouth that it would be but no evidence was out there to support this. Some how with the videos of this device no one seemed to show the touch screen in action so it was a little hard to confirm this. Today, TheBerryFix obtained more photos of the device that we have all seen but one type of photo we have not seen before. The touchscreen in use. You can see with the image above that the slide out is in fact a touch screen and resembles the Storm screen, just a lot better looking. Now if we can get a video to see this in action a bit more, I would be happy. What do you guys think?

trust me they will they made a really nice one for the palm pre so this won't be much of a problem for them. Am sure with this pictures they are already analyzing them and thinking how they can make one, that is if they don't have a prototype already to work from.

Our friends over at The Cellular Guru have uncovered a photo that certainly gives us good evidence that the BlackBerry 9800 Slider is heading to AT&T.
The presence of the splash screen also indicates that this device is in a later phase of testing; as early stage prototypes have no carrier specific splash screen. We've gotten to share a good chunk of information on the Slider today, and I am sure, as the days and weeks go by there will be much more to tell you about. Stay tuned boys and girls, sounds like it's just getting started !!

WOW the change of opinions! I remember when it was first rumored, most had nothing to say but how ugly it was. Lol. I think it's a REALLY nice device! I would like to know how popular it will be though - I see it catching on, wonder if it will be gsm/cdma? Not sure if that's been released.

Damn, I was really hoping Tmo was going to pick this up, I guess the only touch screens from Tmo that I can actually look forward to is from HTC

To me it looks a bit smaller than I imagined. I wonder if it also has the touch screen keyboard in portrait view or if you can only use the physical keyboard. In the BlackBerry 6 preview it appeared to have a different keyboard that was similar to the iPhone. Where's the blue glow of the keys on the keyboard. Something is a little off here, or maybe its just me.
