Thread: Need help with theme.

I had put the Purple Textures theme for OS 6.0 on MobiHand a while back and I just got an e-mail from someone saying that the theme is disabling her universal search. I don't know why it would be doing this for her. She's got a 9800 with OS 6.0.0.600. If I could get someone to help me out by testing the program, send me a PM and I'll send you a link to this theme where you will not have to shell out any money for it. I hope that I'm not breaking any rules by posting this but I need some help with figuring out this one. It's got me very perplexed. I don't own a Blackberry Torch 9800. I own a Blackberry Bold 9650 with OS 6.0. Your help in trying to recreate this problem so I can help her out would be well worth it to me. Here is a screenshot of the theme I'm talking about.

Without a lot of details it could be a couple things. Sometimes when you change font color it can conflict with the background and make it look like the font is not showing up. If the search background is dark and you choose a darker font color it can make it difficult or impossible to see what one is writing.

Also, did you change any images? That may cause something to be absent or out of place.

Have you downloaded the simulator and used that to test the theme?

Find out what she means by its "disabling" the universal search. When she types in something to search for is it bringing it up at all or is it bringing it up and no results are showing?

If its the later of the two its likely that you themed something in the search (Theme The Controls>Search) as changing the font, cursor etc. will render the Universal Search useless because of a bug in TB6 where the results are invisible.

I haven't changed any of the images in this theme. I did download the simulator for the 9800 and tested the theme that way.

I'll check that out and see if that fixes her problem.

Sorry it's taken me a while to reply back but I've been fighting a cold the last few days. Went to the doctor today and got some medicine that I'm hoping will help me get over this stupid cold. Got a shot when I was at the doctor's office and that's giving me some more energy to tackle this now.
