Backup issue with BB Torch 9810 on ATT

For the past couple of months, when connecting my 9810 to the BB Desktop Software and attempting to backup its contents, it freezes at the end when "Backing up Smart Card Options 1 of 1 record" - i've let it sit for up to 30 minutes to no avail. If i attempt to cancel the backup, if further freezes the software, and i end up disconnecting my 9810 from my laptop. Aside from updating or reinstalling my OS, does anyone have any other suggestions??

This is a known bug due to the way that the DS backs up the BlackBerry Social Feeds. The easiest way to get around this issue is to perform whats called a custom backup using the desktop Software. The following steps will help you perform a custom backup.

1. Launch BlackBerry Desktop Software
2. Click on Back Up Now
3. For the Backup Type, select Custom
4. Click the check box next to the Data Type column header
5. Scroll down to Social Feeds
6. Click the box to de-select this database
7. Click on Back Up
