Thread: Blackberry Torch 9810 Bluetooth issue

I am using Blackberry OS 7.1.0.921 with Bell Mobility. Configuring the phone to connect with my car via bluetooth works fine when I first set it up.

When I restart my car I get a message that says "pariing failed" from the car (Hyundai Sonata) and on the BB it shows "Connection failed". If I delete the device from both the car and phone configuration I can add it again no problem.

Is anyone else experiencing this too? If so have you figured out how to get around it?
It may be the car's software but I want to look into all the possibilities.

If I may say try to re-attempt pairing your BlackBerry Torch 9810, make sure discoverable is Yes, not for 2 Minutes, and configure your Hyundai Sonata's Bluetooth setting to automatically connect, same goes for the device.

Also, there is no OS7.1.0.921 for Torch 9810 ( I wish)

OS 7.1.0.921 could be the general build number, not the app build number.

I have a 9810 on bell mobility running the same build and I have no issues connecting to my Nissan Xterra. Maybe its a glitch in the car's software?

Also did you make sure the car is a 'trusted device" in the Bluetooth device properties?

I Don't Know If I'm Suppose to Start a New Forum But I Have a Problem I Finally Loaded OS7.1.0428 on my Torch 9810 AT&T and People Couldn't Hear Me When I Talked it Seems to Be Working ok Know What I Did is Just Re-Loaded it again, Any Suggestions

I checked it out Joe, and member gknapp was referring to the BlackBerry Handheld Software version number, which is OS 7.1.0.921 for BellMobility_9810_7.1.0.267

Thanks for the suggestions grimreaper and bigmig69, I've set my BB to Discoverable and to Yes as suggested.
I'll make sure to try the rest of your suggestions when I'm in my car.
I suspect it is the car's software but want to be thorough.

As for the version, it says 7.1 Bundle 921 (v7.1.0.267) on my BB and the desktop software shows 7.1 Bundle 921

As an update, after making the changes outlined above I managed to get a couple of days before the connection failed again.

I'm gonig to have Hyundai check out the software.

I remember reading about this issue a long time ago while searching for issues for my own bluetooth woes. You're running a very old build. Would definitely recommend you upgrade your OS

Bluetooth can be a funny i havent had much look with Bluetooth in the past
