I am traveling to Tokyo in March and want to take my 9810 with me but don't want to have any roaming charges. Can I get a prepaid sim with BIS while I'm there. I read that you can rent phones there as will but could not find any Blackberry. I would really like to keep in touch with friends and family using BBM. Thanks in advance for any help provided.
you can see about getting an unlock code for your berry to use a diff sim but would do some research first. Most providers in Japan use Wideband Code Division Multiple Access (WCDMA) and from what I can find the 9810 only runs on thees bandsQuote:

if I were you I would check with the carriers over in japan to see if they have support for the bands your phone uses.
