Well that didnt go to well :(

Upgraded my 9810 to version 7.01 so i could run a new app (profile changer) Sunday

All went well, the upgrade was fine

Everything worked as it should

Tonight on the way home i ran a media app so i could listen to some music

as i went to access a menu , it went into a loading loop (small clock onscreen)

this stayed on for about 5 mins, and all buttons were dead :(

so i pulled the battery....

Popped the battery back in, and the blackberry logo and bar came up....

the bar started to creep accross the screen as i does, and i thought no more about it.

When i got home and went to use the phone, i saw the pone had stopped loading at about 3/4 of the process / bar

so i pulled the battery again, and it did the same again :( uh oh ....

no joy its stuck... so i had a go at the nuked berry recovery...


I dont get the unknown pin message, as it always finds the device pin...

it gets to the loader, i can specify what to install.... it then proceeds to read / erase the phone...

it then gives 2 red flashes from the BB and goes into a 2 long 4 short flash cycle, and the app loader says its hit an error and stops

When i then disconnect the berry it just keeps giving 2 flashes ....


have i killed it :(.... and whats the chances of getting back to the correct os before i have to pluck up courage and try and return it as faulty ....

If you have already went through the guide on how to recover a nuked BlackBerry then it may be time for a replacement.

Tried that... no joy, all i get is a pin identified.....

I can get to the app loader and identify what i want to reinstall, it hangs when it starts to wipe the device...


ive also tried jl_cmdr but that cant see the device??? but app loader can

Hey Mart, it sucks that your still having issues. What does the verbiage on the screen say when it hangs? Also have you tried to run the loader without the jvm? let me know plz.

It starts to erase the files then hangs

i know it sounds odd but try it with no battery sim or memory card in when connected to the PC

Yes the no battery option does work at times.
