Thread: Attention ALL members and theme-lovers, Please READ

I love different themes as they add personality to my phone. With later 5.0 OS, including vzw 5.0.0.328 Official, we have noticed a few issues....

On behalf of Brandon (BB Theme Designs) and all of our hard-working themes makers, I was asked to bring the following to everyone's attention:

With new 5.0 OS being out in the wild, and now as official for vzw, several issues with themes have come up such as white bar, any permanent media icons on homescreen not working, and etc. There is absolutely nothing that any theme builders can do to fix these issues until plazmic is updated to export correctly for 5.0 OS. At this point, it can only export as 4.7 and that is the reason why these known and irritating issues persist from OS to OS and theme to theme.

Please note, that Brandon and other theme developers will be updating their themes for OS 5.0 as soon as Plazmic is updated. I, just like all of you, am very eager to see the Plazmic update, as I feel like the OS is crippling the favorite jam in my phone. Let us all be patient and wait on RIM to get their ducks in a row. It will happen and we know RIM is capable of great things.

With that said, the discussion may bring different viewpoints and frustrations, so I ask that you all remain civil, respectful, and absolutely no bashing will be tolerated.

I Found this post on Themes 4BB.com. Just as I suspected, the problems we're having aren't with the themes. IT'S THE OS!!! Don't know if I'm allowed to post material from another site here but thought everyone would be interested.

5.0 OS Bug Doesn’t Play Nice with BlackBerry Themes


Yeah, so we have been getting flooded with emails about issues with the new 5.0 OS upgrade that Verizon customers and assuredly more have encountered. Some blogs have addressed the issue so we needed to as well. As you can see from the picture above, this is wack. If I ran 5.0, which eventually I will, I would be mighty pissed. RIM is aware of this issue and did say they should have this fixed by the BlackBerry Developers Conference. That is November 9-12, 2009. Interesting, November 9 is when themes are suppose to start showing up in App World.
I am curious if there is a corelation. I won’t speculate but you can. At the end of the day, while this is a seriously unfortunate circumstance we must make a clarification. This is not a THEME issue, it’s an OS Issue. Our suggestion if you value your themes is to downgrade back to your previous stable OS and ride it out while enjoying your killer themes(that you got here of course), and in my opinion not only wait till R.I.M. officially announces it but that someone actually reports that it is actually fixed!

not really...it's a 10 second fix and with the 256mb's you won't have to reboot for months...
