In this week's Theme Thursday, I am going to review De-Lexion by Walker Themes. This intricately designed theme is one-of-a-kind, like all of Walker Theme's work. With stunning graphics and an amazing feel, this will be a keeper.
The main part of this theme, and also what it is named after, is the reflections of the apps on the bottom dock. Any app that you place on the dock, be it Twitter, Facebook, or BlackBerry App world, there will be a reflection under the bottom surface of the app. There is also a weather slot, that gives you quick access to any Weather App you might have installed on your phone, and on pressing the Space key, the weather slot fluidly slides away from the edge of the screen, making room for the hidden Today feature, which is helpfull for people who use Messaging and the Calander frequently.
The Keyboard shortcuts for this theme (OS5 version) are:
- Space to show the hidden Today feature
- Escape to show the Weather Slot.
Another feature of the homescreen, one that can be equal parts annoying and extremely appreciated, is the bouncing action of the buttons. When you need to open an app urgently, this feature actually slows you down, while if you are leisurly using you BlackBerry, this will add value to De-Lexion.
One thing that takes from this themes' beauty is that for some reason, the icons get smaller as you select them, which only happens in the homescreen. Another thing is that the weather slot is non-hideable, which means that if you don't want to see the weather slot or the Today features, too bad for you. Another inconvienience is that the font looks too 'square', which isn't what I prefer as a font.
This theme comes in three versions, one with blue icons, one with green icons, and one with pink icons. All of those icons are masterfully created, that show you exactly what the app it shows is. The only thing I can say about that is that I wish the developer could somehow combine all those versions into one, as they all look amazing.
