Verizon upgrading all Storms to Storm 2?

So, a friend of mine went to Verizon today and they replaced his Storm with a Storm 2. I don't have all the details yet, but he said they will upgrade any Storm, but not making it public. I'm not sure yet why he had it replaced in the 1st place, or if they charged him. I'll update when I get that info.

Anyone know anything about this??!

I had a similar conversation this afternoon at a Verizon store with the manager. I was only looking at the Storm 2 checking out the "feel" of the screen and the WiFi etc. I told him I actually liked the Storm 1 and he said "wait until the end of November and I think you will be pleased with Verizon's announcement"

I have heard rumors of Big Red offering some sort of discount to S1 owners, but didn't really believe it as I could see a lot of pissed off S1 owners who already went out and bought the S2.

i 2nd that. as a shareholder i would be appalled that they would give it away for free. but as a s1 owner, i would be more than thrilled. a catch 22 if you will.

A buddy of mine that works for verizon told me to wait a few weeks and they are gonna work with the ones who have s1

I still say they will not exchange them that easily, I'm sure there will be the occasional exception..... It just wont work in my favor!

I walked in to my verizon store with a defective storm and walked out with a brand new storm 2. I never even had to pitch a fit about the original storm.

They even gave me my old memory card,battery,and gave me a set of screen protecters and a case.

I about fell down. I do know i took the bag and ran befor they changed their mind ....lol
