Verizon upgrading all Storms to Storm 2?

Dear All,
I am using Storm 1 (9530). I am living very far from VZW store. I bought Storm 1 for full via a my friend (I did not how did he get the device). Now, I would like to upgrade to Storm 2. In my case:
- Can I upgrade my Storm to Storm 2?
- If can, How can I upgrade?
- And what 's 2 year price??? I do not understand?

You would need to talk to vzw to see when your upgrade eligibility date is. The 2 year price for storm 2 is $279.99 plus you get a $100 Mail in Rebate. As far as your current storm, unless you are having issues, vzw may exchange it if you bought it from them. If not, then your only option would either be to sell it or use it as a back up phone.

You can explain for me 2 year price???

The full price for storm 2 is $539. If you a vzw customer, vzw allows you to buy a new phone every two years at a discounted price. So that's the 2 year upgrade price. If you do buy a phone at their 2 year price, then they make you pretty much sign another 2-year agreement with them. The mail in rebate is separate. Also if you are a vzw loyal customer, they have additional discount called new every two but you have to have a minimum required plan to qualify.

even if so a extra $180 only 3 months after i bought storm 1 seems a little expensive just to get wifi

True, but with the physical buttons gone, and five screen sensors underneath (instead of one), it seems like a better build. Plus with the extended screen, no dust!

thats the point I was trying to get across... there is no deal planned... just the usual upgrade deal... VZW will try to look good giving you what you would get anyway....

I am sorry, but they are making it look like they are giving us such a great deal. They should give us the replacement for all the Beta testing and frustration we did for them on Storm 1. Finally got a good one after 3 replacements and it's working just fine. Would I chunk out the change just to say I have one??? I don't think so. They will have to do better than this...

why does everyone expect something for nothing? do you get a free car when you hit 40k miles? hope for vzw giving us a better deal and move on.

Last night I went to the Letstalk.com website and decided to see what kind of deal or discount I could get with the S2. I am out of contract with the S1 so full upgrade eligible. Here's what I found out, Letstalk with upgrade the S2 is $89.00 after discounts. VZW is $129.00 after discounts and NE2 discount. I don't want to be held to a contract yet, although I am on the 3rd S1, I still think it is a great phone and will wait a little while to see what the S2 owners say about it and to see what deals will come out around the Holidays.

Just caught this thread, This offer was made to me last week by verizon on the phone. I turned them down, has anyone had any luck with the free lemon upgrade? this new os is driving me nuts!

Any chance we could use this as an opportunity to get an early upgrade to another phone? Such as the Droid?

I had a 10 month contract which doesn't end until January. You guys think they'll let me upgrade to the Droid on the 6th and just renew for another 10 months? (And take advantage of my J&J employee discount?)

On another note, I encourage others not to make up a story just to get a new S2 after having an S1. I have been hearing many talking of this. I couldnt agree with you more. As I am someone who wants to pursue the storm2, I don't believe that people should be making up problems with their current phones. I dont think anyone should receive those phones for free because you didnt pay for the storm2 in the first place, you paid for the storm 1. Now I do think there should be special circumstances for people who have actual accuring problems. I'm on storm number and ive been able to replicate every issue ive had with it in store. The option to get a new phone after the 3rd messed up was not given to me. I think I'm entitled to a new phone, but storm number 9 is working great!

You don't think you're time is worth anything having to go back to vzw store 9 friggin times to exchange phones? I'd be extremely po'd!
