    Evidently there is truth to the claims of people receiving early upgrade emails from Verizon within the last couple of days.... Unfortunately I can't confirm that because I have not received that email.....

    I'm wondering what criteria Verizon is using to determine who gets an email....some have claimed to only have had their Storms for 6 months, others said they were recently in a VZW store discussing their options and received the email the next day.....

    i want to know as well. i have been a customer for over twelve years and i am not sent any promotions like this.

    wow...you really should be getting some kind of special consideration for being with them that long....I've only been with VZW since January, so I can't really complain....

    still would like a chance to upgrade early though.....

    i am not looking to get the s2 for free. i just want to be able to upgrade. the store and cs said no. so why is someone who has had the storm less than six months getting this email? i have had mine for almost eleven months and they still wont budge.

    Well I've been in the store and on the phone with VZW several times in the past 2 weeks and haven't gotten the email either.

    Mustang you ave me beat, I've ben with VZW for 9 years, but have had 2 lines for 5 and now we have 3 lines.

    I received the email this morning. Early upgrade, Storm 2 or Droid replacement...not available online...just for everyones FYI....

    i may try the Asurion route... i have gotten nowhere with 1 store and too many calls. They want to send me #7 right now because #6 is not right.

    Must be random selection, had multiple issues and multiple storms, been with verizon for many years with multiple lines. Ah well, I'll get it eventually I guess. I'm not unhappy with my storm anyways.

    Great question. My Storm is the original, November of last year. Never a problem with it, until I updated to the latest software. My speakerphone doesn't work, it's very distorted. I have a new Storm coming, tomorrow, supposedly, and I will let everyone know if it's a Storm or Storm 2. I use the speakerphone alot with conference calls, so I needed it, otherwise, software, memorywise, etc...it has really worked very very well. That is why I am surprised as I constantly read these boards about everyone who has had so many problems over the last year...Again, I will keep y'all abreast of what I get...

    I talked with VZW sales last week and they were like: "Sucks to be you until upgrade date" And I have 5 lines for almost 5 years, plus I am VIP or whatever they call it.

    VZW has been around since April 2000 and I have been a customer since April 2000. In fact, I was a Pac Tell Cellular customer back in the very early '90's, which became AirTouch Cellular, which became VZW. So, depending on how you define "VZW customer", I've been a customer for 17-18 years. The only thing that longevity has gotten me is "VIP customer" status which, as far as I can tell, means precisely d!ck to VZW CS reps.

    If it weren't for their coverage, I'd be gone in half a heartbeat. They know that, but they also know they have me (and so many others) by the short hairs because nobody can come even close to matching their coverage.

    Typing on the new storm 2. The phone was 179 with no mail in rebate. No questions asked or manager approval. Pretty good deal!

    Exactly the same reason a whole lot of people still stick w/ VZW...it sucks but it's tru.:irked::irked::aargh4:

    I think they just made it an instant rebate as opposed to mail in. The sales rep hadn't seen the deal before. I printed the email I received and he typed in my number and rang up the deal. He had no clue they were sending these out. He was surprised there was no mail in rebate. The other option is via phone. The number they gave was 800-437-6132. Give that a shot.
