This is an error I've had for a while but no one at CB has ever been able to help me with
So I was wondering if you guys knew anything about it
Whenever I go into an SMS thread and I start typing if I push the SYM button twice it takes me back to the Keyboard instead of Sym2. But if I try it again from that time it'll take me to Sym2
So it's like
Keyboard-->SYM1-->Keyboard --> Sym1-->sym2 --> sym3 --> keyboard
Instead of just
Keyboard --> Sym1 --> Sym2 --> Sym3 --> keyboard
Hmm not sure about that as I don't have a Storm, but I will ask around.
In the mean time, could you please list what Storm model you own, what OS you are running, and which carrier you are with?
I have a S1-9530 (running BBCM Hybrid 8.5 and using BBAmped Blue_Today Theme) and whether SMS or Email I only get 1 Sym layout - when I press again it takes me back to the regular keyboard. Repeated presses don't do anything different other than display either Sym1 or standard keyboard. I've never seen a Sym2 or Sym3. Hmmm...
Same here, I have just one set of symbols that are displayed or not displayed depending on whether you press sym once or twice.
What set of symbols do you get on the second and third screen? screenshot?

one thing to mention is that i was having some odd glitches here and there. I wiped and reinstalld for other reasons and those "glitches" are no longer present. The first time around I just used DM and let the system do its thing. I dont think it was the DM install that might have caused my issues as much as my restore. i am willing to bet that some settings just do not play well being transferred. I did a selective restore and all is good.
One issue I did have was with the keyboard. I'd start an sms in portrait and turn it to landscape and my portrait keyboard would still be displayed.
I'm not sure why the OP is having the issue he reported, however I did realize why none of the rest of us have Sym2 or Sym3 - it is because we are using the fully QWERTY keyboard and he is using one of the reduced keyboards. When you switch they give you a Sym1, Sym2 and Sym3. I tried it and each press brought me from 1 to 2 to 3 and back. I do not believe portrait vs landscape has any bearing.

I can duplicate the op issues. there is a bug here
