Thread: Will blackberry software work on straight talk wireless?

Walmarts new wireless carrier... can i just change my meid(esn) on the verizon blackberry(9530) to the one on the weak ass phone they supplied ( LG 220CM) . and it will work?

anyone tried this ?

the straight talk service claims to run on cdma and is linked to the verizon network in several major stocks.

The phone supplied (LG 220CM ) Is a cdma phone . ..

ive hacked and upgraded alot of phones( iphones, palms, htc's, and a bunch of other touch screen phones,, but never a blackberry ..

any help is appriciated ... thanks

It may work for phone only but no data

Thats the only reason i want it to work.. its an unlimited data package.. and i already read up on the ways to download files bigger than 2 mb.. ill try it and let you guys know...if i brick it .. is their anyway to bring it back?>??

does their network support bb? do they have service books if not you will only get wap browsing.

Yeah, the carrier has to have service books and services through RIM. If they don't, there's no point in even trying it. So, if I were you, I'd just double-check and make sure they sell Blackberrys before I tried putting one on their network.

As far as making the data work if they do... you just need to make sure you push the right programming. I've went back and forth between networks with the same handset multiple times and got the data working just fine.

not any.. many but not all. depends on the phone

Anyone know the correct way to change my MEID on the storm 9530? Im gonna just start from the wap settings and see how fast i can get... but out of 50 damn programs.. i cant find one to change my hex dec/ meid .. let me know if anyone got any sugguestions.. i dont need the program... i just need to know what it is ... thanks guys..

you cant change the MEID on a phone.. the one it is given is the one it will always have.
